Splinterlands Journeys - The Time Of The Clockwork Aide
Yes... it's time to wake up! It's time to talk again about Splinterlands, and how the strategic auto-battler multiplayer digital-collectible trading card game on the Hive blockchain is the best play2earn in the world!
As a battle mage you will work hard to create the most optimal 7-card deck, and win against another battle mage. to fight against opponents. There are brawls and dramatic battles, and chest rewards with potions, cards, SPS tokens, merits and even packs.
There are hundreds of amazing cards, and the use of a monster or an ability can destabilize the whole opponent team. I have a considerable amount of new and old cards, but it is always amazing when I unwrap a new one. It's time to tell you a good story!
Time splinter
It was a good day already, as I had to open ten rewards chests, and it quickly went from good to better! Started clicking in order, and got four cards from the first chests. I sometimes use the Swamp Spitter so getting two was ok, and the Firecaller and the Venari Marksrat are Martyr cards that I fit into the team when Noxious Fumes or Earthquake battle rules are challenging me.
Found some shards of Splintershards, one Dumacke Orc and then boom... an epic card that I never seen before! The Clockwork Aide is a little clock that makes friendly units faster! Speed is one of the most important aspects in Splinterlands, not only making monsters to attack first but also reducing the chance of being hit by attacks.
It's no joke... this card is epic! According to the lore, the Clockwork Aides are developed by the amazing Riftwatchers using their innovative runemancy. The Riftwatchers champions are hopping from world to world chasing the Chaos Legion, and learned to capitalize on restoring scraps and junk. It looks like a gizmo made by a drunk dwarf, but it's an useful ally in combat. It the Clockwork Aide a match changer? Time will tell!
The clockwork aide is an amalgamation of scraps and spare parts that was brought to life through runemancy. They serve multiple purposes depending on how they are built. The larger ones lift heavy items and perform manual labor, while the smaller ones perform detailed tasks and assist runemancers or medics with their work.
A relatively cheap cart, only 4 mana, that bring new purpose to the salvaged scraps and help in battles. It starts with one health, seven armor and Swiftness, boosting the speed of friendly units. It becomes a blessing when upgraded, gaining Rust and Strengthen. At higher levels will remove the enemies armor and will boost his team with both speed and health! It's a great time to be alive!
It's Time For The Little League!
I was looking forward to use the Clockwork Aide in a battle, and a Little League ruleset with 37 mana cap was the best opportunity. Had to pump up the players, and coach Tarsa is the best motivator. She said .... "Always believe in yourself, give your best, and stab them when they are not watching!"
Antoid Platoon: Very little tank with Shield
Magma Troll: Melee with Reach
Ant Miners: Melee with Scavenger
Serpentine Spy: Melee with Opportunity
Clockwork Aide: Support with Shiftness
Uraeus: Melee with Sneak
I was facing a team of deathbringers, with Thaddius Brood reducing the health of my monsters with one point. The melee team wasn't affected by the magic reduction, and Tarsa boosted back the lost health.
My opponent played the Riftwing as a tank, using Scavenger and Flying as ways to delay the damage on the back line. My team had a superiors synergy, adding six different abilities in the mix, but most important... I had superior speed!
The Ravenhood Warden armored my enemies, but that was only a minor issue. The Soul Strangler was the first down, after an accurate hit delivered by Uraeus! Scavenging ants and scavenging bats.... it's getting creepy in here!
Thanks to it's shield, the Antoid Platoon received zero damage from two attacks... but was taken down by magic. Uraues hits again, as the demonic snake one-shot the Ravenhood Warden. The battle is now simplified, as the armor boost was eliminated.
The Magma Troll took up the tank mantle and was ready for the rumble. The Riftwing was a decent tank, and the Scavenger ability kept it alive for longer, but it couldn't handle the heat! The Serpentine Spy delivered a deadly blow and took the team one step closer to victory!
Let's admit that the Magma Troll didn't do a great job! Strike three and he was out! New tanks for both, with health-boosted Ant Miners for me and the Shadow Snitch for my opponent. You know what they say..... Snitches get stitches!
Uraeus scored twice, and the Serpentine Spy went for his second "goal" of the match. He scores against an unprepared Revealer and the crowd goes mad. Who's going for the hattrick?
Uraeus went for the Venari Bonesmith but his health was too high, while the Serpentine Spy went for the last defender! The Snitch was down... hattrick for the Serpentine Spy! Few minutes of added time and we gonna celebrate the title!
The referee watched the Clockwork Aide and signaled one more round of injury time. The Venari Bonesmith tried to gain more time but his Life Leach was pointless against such an over-powered team. The Ant Miners scored the last goal of the game and .... WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS... WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!
