Greetings Splinterlands Summoners! The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.

Let's enjoy the Weak Magic battle-rule, where all the magic attacks will hit armor first before hitting health. What tactic to approach? Add more armor to your units, use those 1-health monsters with a lot of armor, or go for Shatter and Pierce for an extra dosage of destruction.

There are some over-powered monsters that make magic week with their presence, such as the mighty Alvar! His Void Armor makes this abomination one of the best tanks in the game.

He starts with 6 Health Points,8 Armor, and 2 melee damage. Alvar will gain Giant Killer at level 2, Demoralize at level 3 and Deathblow at level 4. An absolute beast!

It is known that he dedicated himself to accomplish the Legion's vision, reshaping his mind and his body until he had no equal on the battlefield. He quickly rose to the rank of General and now stands as leader of the Chaos Legion.

Alvar starts with 14 health, as tall the magic attacks will hit the armor first. It's Weak Magic without the Weak Magic battle-rule.

I used Tarsa to boost both his health and his melee damage, making Legionnaire Alvar over-powered. Someone had to take some damage, and the Scorch Fiend was the dedicated decoy.

Tarsa: +1 Health and +1 Melee to all friendly monsters

Legionnaire Alvar: Tank with Void Armor

Ant Miners: Tank with Scavenger

Tenyii Striker: Melee with Sneak

Scorch Fiend: Decoy!

I had to face a magical Djinn, but Alvar was ready for the challenge. The darkness in his armor absorbed the spells and delayed the battle enough to put in action the sick moves I had planned.

The Scorch Fiend done his job and acted as a shield for the Tenyii Striker and the tiny Ant Miners. Meanwhile, I was hitting the enemies and grinding their armor.

Legionnaire Alvar was doing his best to protect his army, even if his attacks were constantly missing the target. Good on defense... bad in offense! On top of that, Alvar was out of armor and all enemies were still alive.

It took three rounds to eliminate the first opponent, with the Tenyii Striker making sure that the Pelacor Bandit will never fly again. Wingless and defeated!

The Djinn was still at full health, tanking like a behemoth. It was still in balance, and the battle could flip either sides. But... I was thinking I will lose as my monsters kept missing their attacks!

Alvar was defeated by Oshannus, and the Ant Miners had to step up and tank! Tenyii Striker to the rescue, with another lethal blow. Ice Pixies down, and the focus turned on the healer. The Merdaali Guardian needs to be eliminated ASAP!

Legionnaire Alvar leaded his army to glory, even in after-life. His sacrifice made the difference. Why? The Ant Miners survived long enough to grow and evolve into a strong tank, as the Scavenger ability stacked up health.

Without the healing, Djinn Oshannus didn't look that strong! But he was! The striker scored a hattrick, adding the Guardian to his list.

It could have been a different story without Alvar's Void Armor and the Ant Miners scavenging. Week Magic!

The Tenyii Striker finished the job and delivered the final blow, but it was Alvar who won the battle. His Void Armor made him.... die hard! Djinn Oshannus is a powerful caster but it couldn't handle the heat! See the full battle here!
