Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets - Stampade On Broken Arrows Can Be Painful
Greetings Splinterlands Summoners! The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.
Let's enjoy the Stampede ruleset, where all monsters gain the Trample ability! This can retrigger infinitely as long as the trampling unit keeps killing other units. Bring on the big guns!
The spark of rebellion got bigger, and clashes between rebels and the Chaos Legion are happening more often.
The Shadow Snitches got some intel, rumors that dragons are planning to create a coup in a village nearby, and this behaviour can't be tolerated. Legionnaire Alvar was sent to prevent a sudden appropriation of leadership!
The battle was epic, with Stampede and Broken Arrows. Any monster with Trample will be able to attack perpetually, as long as it keeps killing it's target. No rangers in this fight, leading to high chances for magical tactics.
Thaddius Brood: -1 Health & -1 Magic to all enemy monsters
Legionnaire Alvar: Tank with Void Armor
Arachne Thug: Melee with Reach
Undead Rexx: Melee with crazy damage
Silent Sha-Vi: Melee with Sneak
Sand Work: Melee glass cannon
Magi Necrosi: Caster with Snipe and Camouflage
The other aspect of the battle? Everyone expected overpowered melee and I had to fight against Thornes and Shield with reduced damage. The Disintegrator was a top choice, as six out of seven monsters in my team were melee fighters.
My tactic was anticipated well by my opponent, but I anticipated the presence of few casters. Thaddius reduced both the magic damage and health by one, while Alvar's Void Armor will take on the hits.
The whole first round was a back-and-forwards grinding of armor, and some pain was delivered during the second round.
Legionnaire Alvar was a shield for his team, defending his army from many spells. Unfortunatelly, his demise came from Chwala's deadly Thorns. My only consolation was that the Shieldbearer was taken down, and Sneak and Snipe will create havoc.
Havoc and carnage, as Magi Necorsi sent the Venari Spellsmith into the void. No web or strings could save the Arachne Thug from Djinn Chwala mace!
The Undead Rexx waited patiently for his time to play, and jumped into action with a bite that destroyed the djinn's armor. It you look closely at the Stampede icon, you will see a giant T-Rex in there!
The battle simplified by the Silent Sha-Vi, eliminating Djinn Renova and the bonus health buff.
The Time Mage cheated for sure, travelling back in time and making the Sand Worm miss the attack. Takes time to do time spells, and the Time Mage hourglass was still empty when Magi Necorsi sniped him down! My monsters are back to full speed!
Was no stampede or trample, just a big prehistoric bite! The Undead Rexx chomped on the dragonkin djinn, and they both turned into dust and bones.
The rebellion flame was extinguished, as the Disintegrator was disintegrated by the Chaos army! See the full battle here!

It was interesting to read about the new Battle Mage Secrets series and the Stampede ruleset where all monsters gain Trample ability. The description of the battle between Legionnaire Alvar's team and their opponent was very engaging. It's cool how different strategies around magic reduction, tanking, sneak attacks and spell sniping played out. Sounds like a fun new way to experience battles in Splinterlands.
