Splinterlands Battle Mage - Reverse Flash, Reverse Speed And Hope On Wings
Greetings Splinterlands Summoners! The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.
Let's enjoy the Reverse Speed ruleset, where the Units with lower speeds will attack before units with higher speeds. The attack accuracy based on speed will also be reversed, therefore attacks on low speed monsters by high speed monsters have increased chances to be missed.
This makes the team setup focus on creating a team with mixed abilities and avoid Bloodlust units. Why? The monsters with the Bloodlust ability will increase speed after killing a unit, and even if they grew stronger will be punished by the ruleset.
Another thing to consider is the Slow ability, which in this scenario will help your opponent! Let's go slow and steady like a sloth!
However... using Bloodlust units is really an issue? Had this dilemma before this brawl, as usually 99 mana gives total freedom when selecting the team.
Went into berserker mode and there's no better way to win battle than brute force! Or maybe it is... but it's always fun to smash and crash!
All the 32 Gladius card have the Bloodlust ability, earning +1 to all initially non-zero stats for each defeated opponent. Decision time!
I decided to take the gamble and go for a Life Splinter team and Captain Katie as the main element of destruction. The daughter of the sea is unstoppable... with Snipe and Bloodlust. Only 7 mana and 3 spell power is a bargain, and imagine this unit with Divine Shield!
The card that will create the special synergy will be Adelade Brightwing, repairing the tank's armor along with dealing deadly magical damage.
Adelade Brightwing is hope on wings! It starts with Flying and Repair, and will gain Resurrect, Immune and Swiftness when upgraded... all this with two spell power and five health.
Adelade is the full package! According to the lore, she was born and raised in the city of Centrum in Draykh-Nahka, always having a burning desire to help others. She loved watching soldiers in their gleaming armor walk the streets of the city, and enjoyed watching dragons soar through the skies.
Adelade joined the military at the youngest age permissible and got promoted quick through the ranks. She was the champion of the Twenty Day Battle of The Sands against an army of undead. Was brought before the Temple of the Sky Lady due to her great heroics, and blessed to sprout white wings and fly. It was the highest honor bestowed to followers of the goddess.
I was able to choose all the weapons of mass-destruction and fully embrace all three battle rules. Thanks to the 99 mana-cap I created a team more powerful than the one in Expendables!
Franz Ruffmane: +1 Armor & +1 Gladiator
Shieldbearer: Tank with Taunt
Djinn Renova: Caster with Strengthen
Adelade Brightwing: Caster with Flying & Repair
Captain Katie: Caster with Snipe & Bloodlust
Silvershield Sheriff: Ranged with Snipe
Pelacor Arbalest: Ranged with Double-Strike
Reverse Speed, Blast and Taking Sides created madness! Slower monsters will now be the ones to attack firsts, dealing blast damage. Not having neutral monsters is not a big issue on 99 mana battles, as the top cards can be selected!
My opponent did well when choosing the summoner, as three of my units got their magic reduced! The extra armor from my summoner will compensate, as the team I was facing was mainly melee and ranged.
The Blast was the element I played with, as the Snipe will target different monsters and spread like wildfire! It looked like I faced a similar tactic, with the armor being constantly repaired. On top of that I had to also handle a healer, but thankfully I had units with Snipe!
The Diemonshark kept healing and getting armor back, but the Silvershield Sheriff and Captain Katie took care of the Deeplurker and the healer fish! The blast damage created havoc!
Armor repairs after armor repairs for both the Deimonshark and the Shieldbearer, but my tank kept safe his team with the Taunt.
It was a wonderful end of battle, with the same shot taking down all the remaining monsters. One shot .... three kills! See the full battle here!
The high damage and blast combination was lethal, and having a tank with Taunt made the difference! Djinn Renova was the perfect piece, boosting the health and receiving the blast, while my Snipe units shared damage everywhere!
