Greetings Splinterlands Summoners! The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.

Let's enjoy the Counterspell ruleset, and all the fighters will receive the magic reflect ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with magic receive damage back.

The returned damage is equal to the damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up, making it pointless to select spellcasters. The magic units with Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from the reflected magic attacks, while Amplify will increases the damage. Let's fight!

The Counterspell battle-plan is easy... no casters in the team! This is why I've gone strong on melee and boosted their attack with Thane Newsong's Inspire!

To make it more efficient, I added the Terraceous Hulk in the second position and the Disintegrator. The Hulk will ease off the damage on Grund with his Taunt and the other will reduce the melee of the enemies.

Drake of Arnak: +1 Armour

Grund: Melee with Double-Strike

Terraceous Hulk: Melee with Taunt

Thane Newsong: Support with Inspire

Katrelba Gobson: Melee with Double Strike, Sneak and Bloodlust

Dhampir Inflitrator: Melee with Double Strike and Sneak

Disintegrator: Melee with Demoralize

It was funny to see that my opponent had a similar appoach, with Thane boosting the melee but with a focus on speed. His summoner reduced the speed of my units, while the Clockwork Aide increased the speed of his team-mates.

Everything was going according to the plan, as Grund and the Hulk where spliting the received damage. The Double-Strike team was focusong on the Clockwork, and there was a bounty set on his head!

Katrelba Gobson finished the mission, and she tasted the sweet taste of boosting bloodlust. The Dhampir Infiltrator was next on the list... and was taken out by ... another Dhampir Inflitrator! Poetical justice!

Grund was down... my one this time... and the Terraceous Hulk somehow survived! It will be hard if I lose him, but at least Katrelba doesn't joke about it! She took out her mirror image and got boosted again by Bloodlust!

The Terraceous Hulk was down, as Katrelba took it personal. Thane Newsong was her next trophy, and another dose of Bloodlust went through her veins! The best way to counterspell is to be stronger! See the full batlle here!

When Counterspell is on, it's 99% there's no wizards on the battlefield. My plan is to stack armor and go beefy with melee warriors, however... the Unprotected rule has changed the plan. I choose the summoner that gives armor boost, but only because it's my level three buddy! Why I added the Venari Wavesmith? By mistake!

Kelya Frendul: +1 speed & no armor boost

Costal Sentry: Tank with Double-Strike

Pelacor Bandit: Melee with Flying and Sneak

Uraeus: Melee with Sneak

Veneari Wavesmith: Caster with Armor Up

I had to fight a Kelya Frendul clone, probably from an alternate universe, with a set up based on .... sneaky attacks! Hit and run... seek and destroy!

The Wave Brood was a good choice, as the massive elemental has Close Range and Taunt. This monster will shoot from the first position and attract all other attacks.

Uraeus was the first one down, and to make it worst... the Wave Brood had healing support. It looked like I was the underdog!

However, the tides of the battle turned in my favor in the second round. The Costal Sentry hit hard, and the Venari Wavesmith took down the Wave Brood. This move was a kamikaze one, as the magic reflection hit back.

The Deeplurker made a meal out of my Venari, but by now the Costal Sentry has clear path into the enemy back line. Let's go!Strike one and the Hardy Stonefish was sushi ready, strike two and healer has done and dusted. Damage left and right, and this battle will have a Hollywood ending!

Was a battle on fast forward! The result was in the hands of the gods, as all the remaining four monsters had one health left. Can you guess who won? See the full battle here!
