Splinterlands Battle Challenge - True Aim And Reverse Speed For Hungry Beasts
Greetings Splinterlands Summoners! The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.
Let's enjoy the Aim True battle-rule, where attacks will always hit their target. Always means always and will also apply to magic attacks even if the Phase ability is in play. Let's take advantage of the 100% hit ratio and bring on some big guns!
The Aim True battle-rule was doubled up by Reverse Speed, making the monsters with the lowest speed attack first. On top of sloth privileges', the slowest units will have more chances to avoid attacks.
I started building my team with a focus of melee, and unstoppable damage. Tarsa was used to boost the attack and health of my army, and the Disintegrator and the Molten Ogre were chosen to reduce the enemy's power.
Tarsa: +1 Melee & +1 Health
Molten Ogre: Melee with Demoralize
Ant Miners: Melee with Scavenger
Serpentine Spy: Melee with Opportunity
Gobalano Soldier: Melee with Sneak and Ambush
Sand Worm: Melee with Sneak
Ettin Spearman: Ranged with Pierce
I had to face another Tarsa melee boosted team, with a mix or close-fighters and ranged units. The Antoid Platoon was tanking, with the Radiated Brute as back-up and the Disintegrator reducing my melee damage.
This was the first time I used the Golbano Soldier, and his Ambush skills. The units with Ambush ability are able to attack before the battle starts, giving a small tactical advantage. The Golbano Soldier is one of the many ash goblins of the Gobalano Family! They never pass up an opportunity to throw their weight around and make some easy coin.
Their family spread its operations across Praetoria, infesting the major cities like cockroaches. Soldiers are the family enforcers when it comes to tax collection, intimidation, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and other profitable business ventures. They start with Sneak and Ambush, gaining Shatter at level four.
After a series of attacks and counter-attacks, the Golbano Soldier was the one that made the first kill. He maintained the focus on the ambushed target, and half way trough the first one he took down the Tenyii Striker. The Ant Miners scavenged the fallen and gained one health point.
The Countess Sinash stayed in the shadows and waited for the right moment, then unleashed fire arrows upon the Serpentine Spy. The lesser ranked unit couldn't avoid it's demise! The Ant Miners scavenged the fallen and gained one health point.
Round two started with insect repellant, and the Molten Golem stamping the Antoid Platoon. The Radiated Brute replaced the tank and looked ... radiated and angry! He had a strike on the Ogre and stood the ground for the upcoming attacks. The Ant Miners scavenged the fallen and gained one health point.
The Sand Worm was hungry and took down another opponent. The Ant Miners scavenged the fallen and gained one health point. However, here's a deja vu... the Countess Sinash stayed in the shadows and waited for the right moment, then unleashed a deadly blow upon the Golbano Soldier. The Ant Miners scavenged the fallen and gained one health point.
All tanks will die... and it's not Game Of Thrones. The Molten Ogre eliminated the Radiated Brute, only to be taken out immediately by the Disintegrator. By now you probably know what happened... the Ant Miners health pumped even more!
The Ant Miners took on the tank job, and with 10 health they were up for the challenge. Mayhem and carnage on the battlefield, as the end-game started in a blink. See the full battle here!
