Splinterlands Battle Challenge - Aurora Borealis and Gem Meteors
All the holidays in the Splinterlands are special, with many tourist attractions and landmarks everywhere. The cosmos was borne into creation ... and some of the dying stars exploded in tiny pieces. It was like an Aurora Borealis when the meteors lit up the night!
Those tiny shards received the gift of life from Uul, and this is how Gem Meteors were born. The creature that soars through the sky and flings crystal shards from its body at anyone unfortunate enough to get in its way. These crystalline missiles splinter and crack upon impact, ricocheting into everything nearby and inflicting devastating damage. Beautiful and deadly!
The Gem Meteor is an epic neutral card from the Chaos Legion expansion, powerful ranged monster with Scattershot.
It costs 5 mana, and starts with 5 health points, 4 speed and 1 ranged damage. Will increase the power to 4 damage and gain Piercing at level five.
The Gem Metor is a card that will match with General Sloan powers, a summoner with amazing healing powers. Things changed for Sloan after she joined the Chaos Legion, when she embraced the the chaos energy that was wriggling inside like a parasite.
Beware the Hippo in the Mirror! Back to the Basics battle, with all monsters losing their ability, and 30 mana cap. Was time to bring Sloan on the battlefield, and make the archers fire deadly arrows.
General Sloan: +1 Ranged Damage to allies
Shieldbearer: OP Tank with Taunt
Luminous Eagle: Melee with Reach and Flying
Herbalist: Ranged
Silvershield Archers: Ranged
Gem Meter: Ranged with Scattershot
Xenith Archer: Ranged
Now ignore all the ablities, as they are voided by the battle-rule and let Sloan boost the sharpshooters!
It was a battle against the hippo in the mirror, as I faced another Sloan. The team set-up was similar, with only minor differences.
The first round was brutal, with rain of arrows landing into the Shieldbearer. Both protected the others well, but end up the round with only 3 health.
Then carnage followed in round two, when I lost the Shieldbearer, the Luminous Eagle and the Herbalist. Was looking all gloom and doom, as I managed to take down only the enemy's Shieldbearer. It didn't look fair when it was 5 against 3.
I was still fighting for survival in a 4 against 2 battle, but the tides of war changed in a single moment. The Herbalist missed a shot on the Gem Meteor, and I was back in action.
That missed attack changed everything! I took down the remaining archers and was left with the Pelacor Conjurer. I still wonder why this card was left last, and not up front to delay attacks? See the full battle here!
