Splinterlands Battle Challange - The Spirit Hoarder Gone Missing
The Splinterlands weekly battle challenge got upgraded in 2023, with a wider choice of topics. When it's not about dragons, the players must use some top cards and legendary monsters.
This story should be about the Spirit Hoarder but the ugly little dude gone missing!
At the start of the Chaos Legion invasion, the great vortexes touched the edges of time and space, drawing in matter from other realms. Some of the portals were so powerful that beings were dragged through against their will. This happened to the Spirit Hoarder, taken away from his own world and landed in Praetoria.
The Spirit Hoarder looks like a dryad but he is mostly faceless. His big yellow eyes and the deep green skin makes him look like Groot, as the uneven ruts of its head almost look like broken wood.
jutting away from the otherwise smooth and serene outline of its body. The alien appearance of this creature makes it difficult to tell where it resided on its home world, and it is likely at some point in evolution its habitat was in water, but now it is clear that it makes its home on solid ground and is completely terrestrial.
It is a docile looking creature but the sinister staff he carries has mystic force. It's the Vault of Spirit Hoarders and the one true source of its power, with tormented spirits drifting inside the orb. They are desperate to be free of the anguish prolonged by their eternal prison.
The Spirit Hoarder wants souls, and doesn't care if Praetorians and Chaos Legion are the victims of his harvesting.
This Chaos Legion neutral legendary monster is expensive, and I don't have him in my deck. He starts with 3 health, one magic damage, one speed, and the Triage ability... not bad for 3 mana.
When upgraded, he is excelling in regeneration and curing status effects while de-buffing enemies.
The Triage ability will heals the friendly monsters that have taken the most damage, while the Dispel ability will clear all positive status effects on the enemy.
When upgraded to level 3, he will gain Blind! This ability will affect both melee and ranged monsters, increasing the chances to miss the target.
Well .... do I have any similar cards? Maybe the Venari Spellsmith is the one monster with a similar build-up!
It's not legendary but the rare rat trained a lot to harness unique magical skills. This creature worked hard in the Institute of Application, that acts as a center of study for spells and tinkering, to become a fluent spellcaster.
The Venari Spellsmith is dedicated to the magical arts that magic itself became a part of them. They can manipulate magic to damage foes, and upon death the radiating mana explodes from their bodies.
It costs 4 mana, and starts with the Dispell ability, gaining Amplify and Redemption as they evolve.
Obsidian will improve the Venari Spellsmith spell damage, a strong summoner that focused on training her Earth magic. She grew resentful and started using obsidian to enhance the powers and she used the rage to destroy her village. I have a gold foil level 2 Obsidian, valued at 16.45 dollars.
She and her apprentice vanished but her power caught the attention of Silus of the Rift, who made her a close advisor. Obsidian is one of the most used summoners and a Chaos Legion champion.
The Venari Spellsmith will be protected by the Mycelic Slipspawn. The mushroom behemoth starts with 10 Health Points, 2 Speed and 2 Magic Damage, improving the stats with every level. It becomes an super-tank, as it gain Forcefield and Slow.
Magic is Super Sneak! I decided to go all-in on magic, even if the Super Sneak battle rule advantaged the melee monsters! The mana cap set at 31 gave me freedom of choice and set the standard high enough!
Obsidian: +1 Spell Power to all friendly monsters
Mycelic Slipspawn: Tank with Taunt
Regal Peryton: Star Card - Caster with Flying
Goblin Psychic: Caster with Heal Tank
Venari Spellsmith: Caster with Dispell
Djinn Biljka: Caster with Camouflage
I had to fight a team that had boosted speed and armor ... but the Venari Spellsmith doesn't care about armor. He concentrated his spell and delivered the final blow on the Disintegrator, then watched Djinn Biljka and the Goblin Psychic made two more victims.
FLAWLESS VICTORY! My enemies fell one by one! The Hireling, Deeplurker and the Serpent of Eld couldn't match the overpowered magic! See the full battle here!
