August was scorching in the Cryptoverse and many events shaken or pumped the market. It was a month of growth for the crypto market and opportunities were there to be taken! The month's summary will be a journey through events and will highlight some opportunities that are continuing through September.
PSG FAN TOKENS
Lionel Messi signed with Paris St. Germain and part of his signing fee was paid in FAN tokens. Messi signed a two years deal with PSG and $PSG fan tokens were part of the deal, estimated at 30,000,000 Euros. The $PSG fan tokens allows the holders to vote on lesser club decisions, have access to tickets, merchandise and experiences not available for non-holders. The $PSG fan tokens seen a high volume of trading after Lionel Messi signed with the French Team, reaching All-Time High over 60 USD.
Watford to the moon?
The English football team Watford added Dogecoin on their shirts for the 2021-2022 season of the Premier League. Dogecoin was not directly involved in the deal, as Steak.com was the entity that paid the sponsorship. Stake.com is a sport betting website and crypto casino which decided to invest into Dogecoin promotion and awareness.
Watford will wear Dogecoin on the shirts is not the first crypto experience, as they had Bitcoin on the sleeve during the 2019-2020 season. However, it is the first time Dogecoin will show-off in high profile sports in the United Kingdom. Will this partnership take Watford to the moon? Maybe just in Europe Conference League?
Binance reactivation of USD and GBP deposits
Happy days! Binance reactivated the GBP deposits and withdrawals via VISA cards, resuming functionality. Also the USD deposits and withdrawals via SWIFT have been reactivated for all the personal accounts.
The $10 million rugpull from the Solana (SOL) ecosystem
Solana blockchain went over $2 billion in TVL just before the Luna Yield rug pull happened. The ecological liquidity farming project vanished with $10 million after deleting all social media accounts and their website. Users unstaking attempts were unsuccessful because the pool was depleted
Poly Network crazy hack!
Poly Network was hacked by $260,000,000 only to have the money returned. The hacker said he wasn't interested in the money, and he only wanted to keep the funds safe after finding a bug in the code. The anonymous hacker published a Q&A about the reasons behind the hack and mentioned that he did it for fun and to keep the assets safe.
Is this FOMO or what? Visa joined the NFT frenzy and bought one of the popular CryptoPunk NFTs, spending $150,000 for the digital CryptoPunk 7610. The CryptoPunk avatar bought by Visa is a lady with a mohawk and large green eyes. The CryptoPunk collection is considered a blue-chip NFT investment and with the total sales have reached $752 million after the Visa transaction
Get Vaxxed and get Bitcoin ... Down Under!
Great news from Australia, where a millionaire committed to share small amounts of Bitcoin to everyone who will take the COVID-19 vaccine. Fred Schebesta said he would give away $5 worth of bitcoin to those who had a COVID-19 vaccine and to everyone who will get it in the future. He may end up paying $104,000,000 if the whole population will take the jab. Sounds as a fair deal if you are planning to have it anyway, and who knows the value of the gift in few years!
Missed opportunities and things that happened to quick!
Another Binance Launchpad took place in August, as Coin98 was officially listed and distributed on CZ's exchange. The total amount of shared tokens was 50,000,000 $C98 at $0.075 per token. I committed BNB and my deducted share was $30 for 470 Coin98 tokens. Cashed out the profit and added 2 more BNB in the Vault.
What's on in September?
