Doctor Who World Aparts - Tournaments, NFTs And 60 Years Of Entertainment
Doctor Who is seen on television regularly in 65 countries with a world-wide audience of 110 million. The Doctor Who Worlds Apart game will definitely tap into that fan base and will make some waves in the Metaverse!
Why? Because Doctor Who is one of the longest running TV series in the world with 60 years of existence. The Doctor's adventures started in 23rd of November 1963, then the pilot episode, An Unearthly Child, was aired on BBC. The episode introduced a mysterious pupil, Susan Foreman, and her grandfather, the Doctor.
The 60th anniversary special will cast David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor, and he will be reunited with beloved companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate). For those that remember... the Doctor was forced to wipe her memories of their adventures for fear her mind would burn.
The Doctor Who 60th-anniversary specials will begin airing with The Star Beast, on Saturday 25th of November. The special will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, while the rest of the world can find it on Disney Plus. The subsequent episodes will air on the following Saturdays, on the 2nd of December (Wild Blue Yonder) and 9th of December (The Giggle).
It was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the longest running science-fiction series in the world. The anniversary will definitely bring a special edition on BBC, and some top updates in the Worlds Apart game.
The official trailer is out... and it's packed with action! Neil Patrick Harris is playing the mystery villain Toymaker, and we will be introduced to the 15th Doctor during the 1 hour long special! How I meet your mother is getting Time-Lord vibes!
Yes... it's time to dive into Doctor Who: Worlds Apart, and highlight some top updates. The new UI shows information regarding the owned cards, market activity, earnings, and collection stats.
Not sure when it happened, but I sold 9 cards and earned $39.46 from those transactions. I hope this will not bite back when the game will go mainstream and the cards value will go 10x more.
The game is "wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey" action-packed card duel that whisks you away in the TARDIS through all of time and space! The cards you play are either friends, foes, or fascinating objects from across the Whoniverse. You will be caught in this whirlpool of excitement, and your NFTs will lead you towards victory.
I am a collector, therefore most of my packs are in mint condition. Have 14 unopened packs, including some rare ones like "Machines of War". If you are just joining Doctor Who: Worlds Apart, my advice is to join the tournaments and earn free packs by playing all your games. Also keep logging daily, and earn those sweet pandaks.
How you play the game? The game starts as the TARDIS makes its journey through time and space, rematerializing at a new location for each of the game’s six turns. Both players have a customizable deck of 12 cards, with three three active cards the hand.
Play the cards and have the most overall power to win the game. Sounds simple, but the dynamic is complicated and competitive. The players take their turns at the same time, playing one or more cards each turn, if they can afford their Artron cost.
In the game below, I won the World Clash activated by the Tardis and was able to draw a card. Winning the clash awarded 3 points, which were added to my total power.
When the TARDIS rematerializes on a World, it becomes part of the Present, then the Ability is activated and a World Clash takes place. The power from all cards in the Present is added up for each player, and whoever has more wins the World and it's Power. The game will ends when all six rounds have been completed, and the player with the higher power wins the game!
This game was as even as it could be, tipping the balance in my favor in the last round. Won the World Clash and the extra 6 points thanks to an OG cyberman!
It's not late to join... time is irrelevant! You can be a Time-Lord, and you could travel with the Tardis. Remember the pandaks daily rewards? You can use them to buy Doctor Who Worlds Apart packs.
My latest pack was paid integrally with pandaks, saving 29.99 USD. I bought one Lair of Shadows pack, which includes random serial numbers and 10 Time Lord Victorious cards with either Great Vampire Frame or Vampire Sister Frame.
Was a double dip, as each Lair of Shadows: Drip II and I received an Lair of Shadows: Extra Bite pack for free. If you think about it... I received both packs for free! Two more packs added to my collection, both added to HODL mode.
Why not unwrapping the cards? I have a theory that fuels my madness. Because of the low supply of the rare cards, is a bigger chance to get legendary NFT when more packs are opened. Opening late gives more chances for better cards.... maybe! Time will tell!
