You are in luck folks, your life just got a little easier, as I want to introduce you to just such an outstanding project currently seeking Gitcoin funding in the current round:B Labs Research - a project that identified one of the biggest issues in web3 and is ready to solve it!

B Labs is a web3-native, community-based project offering data-driven and evidence-based research to projects and protocols in the space. Its mission is to facilitate an informed decision-making by its partners to help them develop and grow their projects innovatively and sustainably. Hence their motto:

B Labs Research produces and provides actionable, customized research, analysis and advisory services on web3 topics for clients native to or interested in entering and engaging with the space. Also, they provide a platform to ideate on and develop new ideas, products and services.

Currently web3 is a complex ecosystem - wild, noisy and constantly evolving. This creates a challenge when looking for suitable, lasting solutions. B Labs is ready to provide guidance here, by clarifying the strengths of a projects in relation to others, by identifying what the issue is that their client can solve better than others and then positioning them accordingly.

Examples of other aspects that can be addressed by the team:

How experienced is the team and how good is the coding?
Why is there so little community engagement?
Unaware of obstacles which start creating blockers while busy building.
Realising a web3 idea - inception, concept, white paper, necessary steps.
(How) does the tokenomics model work?
What is the right token distribution for a project amongst its stakeholders?
What are the right incentives to attain the desired effect?

The process would start with a thorough discovery call with the client to fully understand their needs. It is the first step towards identifying the relevant web3 aspects and for developing an individual (research) outline. The client will be involved, creating ownership and generating feedback along the way.

Why does B Labs Research apply for a Gitcoin Grant? Simple: outreach, community building and exposure.

In particular, the Gitcoin funds will be used for community building and outreach, data, tooling, but also education as well as public good output. So on one hand the focus will be to grow community membership, create and optimize process, grow offerings and collaboration, the development and sharing of research content and datasets. On the other hand to develop onboarding and training materials for non-English language environments and by finding suitable models from incubation over support to delivery.

This will support the team in further identifying suitable collaborations between web2 and web3, streamlining processes and developing new offerings.
