Across The Cryptoverse #42 - The Big $ACX Clawback And The Love Party
Across launched the $ACX token over a year ago, and any airdrop-eligible wallets have been able to claim at any time up until the end of January 2024, when the clawback proposal was voted and the unclaimed airdrops started their journey towards the Across treasury.
Why the clawback was activated? The airdrop was intended to reward early users of the protocol, and it makes sense to end claimability. Of the 111M tokens originally allocated to the airdrop, only 6M remain. This is a pretty strong claim rate, and we believe that it's time for any remaining ACX to return to the treasury.
This led to approximately 6.7M ACX being clawed back to the Across DAO Treasury, as the airdrop is officially over. This was necessary, and aimed to strengthen the bond with the community and holders. The love for the was also highlighted during the Valentine's Day Party, when $ACX was shared for love poems, cakes and for the best players at the people's favorite game... "The Right Price!"
Most of the events started at the beginning of the month, to give people time to bake lovely cakes and create amazing haiku poems. We didn't want to keep anyone away from their loved ones so the party was quick!
It started with the distribution of $ACX prizes for those that flexed their prediction skills during AFCON and Asian Cup, and continued with more lovely events. We had love letters as well and the lucky wheel!
The #AcrossBaking events have become a tradition, and the Valentine's Day challenge was to back a cake that will show the love for Across. There were many entries and all looked delicious. It was hard to select the winner, but Legend's cake was absolutely ... legendary!
Who thought that baking could be both delicious and rewarding? Christina got the second prize with a cake that had a bridge on it, and Byron got the third place with an amazing creation. The top 10 master bakers were rewarded with higher prizes, while the others received ACX as a token of love and appreciation.
Haiku is a type of short form poetry that originated in Japan, with three phrases composed of 17 phonetic units in a 5, 7, 5 pattern. It includes a kireji, or "cutting word" and a kigo, or seasonal reference. Why I am telling you this? Because I love creating Haiku competitions.
The set format lowers the AI usage and makes people use their brains. The Across Haiku was such a great even, with over 20 poems delighting the audience. Art is hard to judge but someone had to win the event. Razer was chosen for the haiku message and going spot on with the criteria. All the participants received ACX love and gratitude!
The Right Price turned into a crowd-favorite, as it involves speed and luck! I will share an image with something I bought, telling the players both the day and the price. The task is to calculate the price in ACX, considering the date and token price.
Who's closest to the right price wins, as long as the prediction doesn't go over. This game involves crypto knowledge and fast checking on Coingecko, plus the conversion of the currency into dollars! Can you guess the value of a whole lobster in ACX on the 17th of January? Join us on Discord for the next parties and become part of the Across family!
