Actor and Comedian Fred Willard passes away at the age of 56
Friday, the 15th of May 2020, brought sadness to all entertainment and movie enthusiasts as Fred Willard, star of the Anchorman and Modern Family series has died. His death was announced by his agent the following day, although the cause of death was not released. The four times Emmy-award-winning comedian passed away at the 56, and the news has been carried by news agencies and tabloids worldwide. He is widely recognized for his roles in family sitcoms and comedies including movies such as "Anchorman" and "This is Spinal Tap" and he also featured in series like "Modern Family". Willard passed away at the age of 86, and many have commented that he lived a long life.
Tributes poured in from many of his colleagues as well as other popular stage names, most being posted on the Twitter social media platform. A tweet read "Thanks for the deep belly laughs Mister Willard" and this was from his longtime friend and fellow veteran actor Steve Carell. Another read "Fred Willard was the funniest person that I've ever worked with. He was a sweet wonderful man", tweeted actor Steve Carelll warmly as scores of other celebrities posted.
These tweets were very emotional, and depict the unpredictability of life. Just a few days earlier, on May 11, Willard had been writing a tribute for a fellow veteran show business participant who had died: "A bad time! Just getting over the loss of Little Richard, and now my old friend Jerry Stiller has passed away; He was a good friend and a very funny man". This was also posted on his Twitter account.
He continued "I met him in the 60s when we played in The Village as he and Anne Meara. Unfortunately for us, they were funnier! But we could not be enemies, so we became good friends instead". Modern audiences knew Willard as the TV father of actor Ty Burrell's character Phil Dunphy on ABC's hit sitcom, 'Modern Family'. But his over 50-year career saw him take up roles in movies like "Waiting for Huffman" and "Best in Show" all of which were complete ribcrackers, always eliciting laughs. Earlier audiences fondly remember him for his role as Jerry Hubbard, sidekick to actor Martin Hall in the 70s talk show spoof "Fernwood Tonight". His extensive and extremely successful career began when he moved to New York in the late 1950s, which will be too long to narrate in this publication.
However, in more recent times, he played a role in later seasons of CBS's popular 'Everybody Loves Raymond' show as Hank MacDougall. In addition, he played the role of a sportscaster in the television series "Back To You" which premiered on the Fox Network about thirteen years ago. Apart from his Emmy awards, the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters presented Willard with the Art Gilmore Career Achievement Award at their celebrity luncheon in 2015.
The entire show business community as well as movies enthusiasts and audiences worldwide will miss Fred Willard dearly. And as tributes continue to be offered, it is everyone's wish that he rests in peace.
Who is Miley Cyrus new mystery boyfriend, Cody Simpson?
Singer and Actress Miley Cyrus is making news lately, as the star and her new boyfriend, Cody Simpson seem to be having a great time together during the lockdown. The summer was a terrible one for Cyrus as she divorced her ex-husband, actor Liam Hemsworth, and her recent split with girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter. Their marriage did not last up to eight months, and in August 2019, they were separated, with Hemsworth not delaying in asking for a divorce. The singer has identified herself as Pansexual, that meaning that she has sexual, romantic and emotional attractions towards people of all races, ethnic groups and genders.
That said, she quickly got together with the beautiful Kaitlynn Carter. Unfortunately that did not last long, ending in mid-September. For a long stretch of time, nothing was heard of Cyrus' love life, and her fans were left hanging the balance. But it appears she has already found love in the arms of a handsome Australian, Cody Simpson. They were caught on camera kissing, but this was thought to be merely flirtation. That was till recent, precisely on Tuesday, when the singer was hospitalized for a bad throat. Simpson came there to visit, and she posted the video with the caption "My boyfriend comes to see me in the hospital".
This was the first time Cyrus referred to Simpson as her boyfriend, and it has sparked a lot of conversation all over social media. Since then, Cody and Miley have been displaying their affection all over social media platforms and are no longer hiding it. But people are confused; when did Cody and Miley become lovebirds all of a sudden? Discoveries were made that the two have been friends since 2014, although their relationship remained platonic. At the time, they were both in relationships, so any signs of a budding romance were invisible and the two remained friends. However, it appears they were both having feelings for each other; at least Cody did, admitting he had "the hots" for Cyrus in a 2012 interview, when he was just 15.
It is apparent the two have been having attractions to each other, their relationships with other people at the time posted as obstacles, so the romance had to lie low. But now both are free, they have decided to link up. Sources have commented "they just want to have a good time, and are open about it". That said, fans should not expect anything too serious, as they are just two youths in love and are going with the flow of things, no strings attached.
A recent update on their lives shows that the couples are observing precautionary measures during the health alert together, and are staying together during the lockdown. They also went to a dog shelter and purchased a puppy, thhis being the kind of calm, acts that are done more in this season. Recently Cody was seen to have undergone a remarkable change of look, shaving his hair and applying eyeshadow, blush and bright red lipstick. It is apparent this is another of Miley's campaigns for the Queer community, as she has identified as Pansexual.
