If I had a dollar for each time someone asked me how I made "going with the flow" work for me, I wouldn't need to be on read.cash.
Just kidding. But let's get serious now.
A word of caution โ ๏ธ
This is all based on my experiences and opinion, and as human beings vary, so does our fate and luck. This is just me relating my experiences, you're free to try if you wish but you must understand that this is not guaranteed to work for you and you should never depend on it as a sole option.
So we're done with the boring stuff and the terms and conditions that no one wants to read anyway. (Go back and read it if you didn't.)
What is The Flow? ๐โโ๏ธ
My best explanation of something so dynamic as this would be to liken it to the legendary dลjutsu (visual technique) from the popular Naruto anime, the Sharingan.
I wasn't able to embed a GIF from Tenor to show you guys what it's about (talk to read.cash about that later), but let's just say that with those eyes, users are able to see and respond to their enemies moves no matter how fast or sudden they are (provided their physical bodies and reflexes were up to the task).
The same applies for The Flow. Going with the flow means that in conditions where you aren't able to do anything else but be subject to fate, you are able to adapt to randomly changing situations and make things work for you.
Going with the flow is made up of a combination of different practices, some very impractical, and you cannot always expect it to work out just fine.
That's why it should be used only as a last resort (this is a self-rule ๐)
So how do you use the flow?
1. Not making it a priority โ
The best way to go with the flow is... Not to. The Flow is something done when you failed to do what was necessary and ended up in a trapped position, or odds are just against you and you're at the end of your wit.
Adapting and Adjusting to situations is more effective when you've made plans and backups already. In such a situation, you'll no longer have to depend on luck and the flow alone to survive.
2. Draft all possible scenarios๐ญ
Of course it is impossible to think about all the random things that could happen; they may be well over a billion.
A comet could strike the earth, the world could come to an end, you could get a stomach ache, anything.
But carefully mapping out at least 5-10 things that could happen is vital. Don't leave anything out as too crazy (except if it is, like the scenes I mentioned earlier: you could never be prepared for an apocalypse) and think of possibe solutions.
That way, at least there's a 40-50% chance that even when life happens, you are still on top.of things.
3. Don't do it alone.๐ญ๐ฌ๐ซ
There's strength in numbers, that's for sure.
Getting other people involved in this is certainly a good idea because they bring in fresh ideas, a different perspective and make sure that the possible contingencies we talked about in Number 3 are well thought about.
On the other hand, make sure that you are few. 3 or 4 will do. Too many cooks spoil the broth.
4. Pray for Luck ๐
This is where things become impractical. The fact is that this is a backup plan with a higher failure rate - you're only doing this because you have no other option.
There have been exams I didn't read enough for (spent time focusing on other more 'important' subjects) and I had to write the exam by "winging".
Q: What's Winging?
A: If it looks more reasonable, more logical, or if it just feels like the answer, pick it. If you have no clue, 'minie-minie-miny-mo' will suffice.
How logical was that? If that didn't sound practical, then you'll be surprised that I passed. Why? Because life happens!
In the end, when all the other steps did not work out, Que Sera Sera, I guess.
