[WP] Your plane from Orlando to London has just landed and as it taxies in it's surrounded by police and press. You disembark and a police constable tells you. "It's 2036, your plane went missing 15 years ago."

*****

The Police officers guarding that hospital ward never saw it coming.

Of course, armed with their level of ammunition and tactical gear, it would have been unfathomable to think that they would be stumped by three petty theives. Gross underestimation, fueled by ignorance due to a lack of information caused that.

It was not until the alarm chimed on their smartwatches, letting them know that the cuffs had been deactivated by a means other than the normal decryption key, that they finally realized that the enemy was on a whole different level from what they expected. Innovation and technological advancements had made the use of the modern handcuffs lot more secure. Rather than the metal ones which could be hacked or slipped out of by one trick or the other, these ones had electroshock features that were set to activate if the captive tried to force their way out of them, or damage the cuffs. The only way out was to possess the decryption key, or an immense level of technological know-how to bypass the secure system.

And that was the kind of foe they were going toe to toe with.

Loading up their guns, they gave each other signals before bursting into the ward...to find it empty. From the constant vibration of three hooks and wires connected to the walls under the windows, it was easy to tell that the men, who were not only good at hacking, but also at skywalking or something related to that.

"We have to get-"

The beep was one that every officer wished they would not hear in the course of duty. The one that signalled that an explosive was nearby. Turning slowly, they finally noticed the suspicious can on the pillow.

"Fu-"

The explosion rocked the room, vaporising the officers instantly and setting several structures on fire. Emergency alarms screamed as the workers tried to get the situation under control, all while three men, unnoticed, hit the ground and began to run as fast as possible towards the gates, clearing the hurdle in a clean leap and bundling into Rolls Royce which was all too convininently brought to the hospital.

"Where to from here?" Asked Lucius, the driver, as they spend away from the scene just as emergency services poured in to begin the evacuation and first aid administration sequences, having extinguished the fire already.

"That? I don't know yet. I still can't say for sure where he was taken to, but if it's any consolation, I left a tracking chip in his right pocket. Even if it has been removed and even destroyed, it would have recorded his last known location, and that is what we will use to track him down to where he is and get him back. Don't forget, he is our key to a set life." Said Tremaine, the leader.

Kronos, the other man, sighed, looking outside the window. He was the more laid-back of the two, but he also had a knack for analysing situations a lot, a trait that made the other two see him as a coward.

Tremaine looked over at him. "You got something to say?"

"Does it matter if I do?"

"Well, your take is important. It really does influence our decisions, so your input would be most welcome."

Kronos nodded. "Then if I may add, I think we're heading headfirst into a risk that might be way more than we can handle-"

"Damn it Tremaine, I knew this guy was a weak-willed nutjob from the start. Of course he's afraid, what else did you think he-"

Kronos looked over spitefully. "You're the brawn of this team, Lucius. It gets a bit annoying when I see you overstepping your boundaries to discuss more tactical topics. Stay where you are and stay silent until it's time to shoot."

Lucius squeezed his hands around the steering wheel, his eyes staring daggers at Kronos. "What the hell d-"

"Calm down, Kronos. Let's allow him to finish talking, yeah?"

It wasn't a request. It was an order. Tremaine had a strange way of speaking.

"Well, let's analyse the odds. We have a medium level of firepower at our disposal, a lot of knowledge and skill in its usage and I'd say that with our combined efforts - excluding those of Lucius of course - we would just be at genius levels of brainpower here. Now compare that to what the professor possibly has - we all don't even know the extent or limits of his abilities yeah, but seeing the little of how much we know he's running underground, we can only say that it's a lot - and get back to me. You do the numbers yeah, and you tell me that we're either entering this mission based on luck, or this is some kamikaze sh*t, and I'm not down for either of the two."

The car was silent for a few seconds before Tremaine started laughing.

"You see? That's exactly why I need you on the team. Asides the fact that you've got some cowardice in your bones, you're always gonna deliver as far as that tactician stuff is concerned. After listening to what you said, I'm glad I got this just in case," he said, whipping out a device from his pocket.

Kronos' eye widened. "Is that?"

Tremaine smiled. "Yes, it is. Our trump card."
