Benefits of papaya
There is no place in Bangladesh where papaya is not available. Papaya is a very beneficial vegetable or fruit for our body.
Papaya is a vegetable in its raw state and a fruit in its ripe state. Nutrition: Rich in carotene and vitamin CMedicinal properties: Raw papaya papain is used to treat indigestion, worm infections, ulcers, skin lesions, eczema, kidney complications, diphtheria, bowel and stomach cancer. Papaya gum and seeds are anthelmintic and spleen, beneficial for the liver. Usage: Raw papaya is used as a vegetable and salad. Regular raw papaya curry increases breast milk in women who have just given birth. Any disease related to digestion is cured by eating raw papaya glue. After eating rice at noon every day and after eating rice or bread at night, chewing a piece of raw papaya well and drinking a glass of water clears the stomach in the morning. Raw papaya or papaya tree glue is also especially useful for diseases like stomach ailments, constipation etc. Regular consumption of papaya curry is beneficial for diarrhea. Raw papaya glue has a strange power to get rid of diarrhea. Papaya Diseases and Insect Control :: Among the diseases of papaya are leaf rot and scab, anthracnose, mosaic and leaf curl. And among the insects, millibags are significant.
Leprosy and scabies: If the soil is damp, the disease can occur in the seedbed. In addition, rot disease can occur during the rainy season. Kandapacha disease causes brown water wet spots at the base of the tree. Infected seedlings die and fall off. As a precautionary measure, the seedbed soil should be kept dry before sowing and the fungicide called Secure should be mixed with 2 to 3 gm per kg of seed. As a remedy for this disease, diseased saplings should be removed and burnt. In addition, 2 g of caramel MZ-72 fungicide is mixed in every liter of water and sprayed on the affected stems.
Anthracnose: Due to this disease brown rot disease occurs on the fruit. The fruit becomes unfit to eat.
Remedy: Mix 2 gms of fungicide called Noin or Karjim with every liter of water and spray on the skin 2 to 3 times in 10 to 15 days
It is a viral disease. In this disease, yellow spots appear on the leaves, the stems of the leaves are bent and the growth of the plant is reduced. The disease is spread by the attack of jab insects.
Remedy:Infected trees should be removed and burnt. It is possible to prevent the spread of this disease by controlling the spreading insects. Millibag: In recent times the millibag has emerged as a tick bug. Infected leaves and fruits are covered with white powdery coating. Infected tree leaves and fruit shoots cause mold disease. If the level of attack is high, the tree may die.
Remedy : Infected leaves or stems with insects should be collected and destroyed early in the attack. If the infestation is high, add 5 gms of soapy water or Admire 200 SL 0.25 ml per liter of water. Mix at the rate and spray 2 to 3 times every 15 days.
