Is the fast of Arafat on Thursday or Friday? || Resolving the confusion about the day of Arafat in Yaom || --------------------------------------------- Mufti Abul Hasan Shamsabadi --------------------------------------------- . The special virtue of fasting in Ya'um Arafah has been described in Hadith Sharif. Hadrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Fasting on the day of 'Arafat is considered by Allah to be the disbeliever of the Sunnah before it and the Sunnah after it.

"Regarding the fast of Arafat in Ya'um, I hope that Allah will forgive the sins of the previous year and the next year by it."

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 1172) The purpose of 9th Zilhaj is by ‘Yaome Arafah’ or ‘Arafah Day’ as narrated in that hadith. This is the technical name of the date. Since the pilgrims stay at Arafah Maidan on the 9th of Zilhaj, this day has become famous by this name. Similarly, since the 10th Zilhaj is performed by the pilgrims, this day is called 'Yaomun Nahar' or 'Day of Sacrifice'.

So just as the day on which the 10th of Zilhaj falls will be the day of Yamun Nahr or the Day of Sacrifice, so will the day of the 9th of Zilhaj be the day of Yawm Arafah and the day of Yawm will be the day of Yawm. Arafah must be fasted. In the year 2020, what day should we observe "Yaome Arafar Fast" in our country - Thursday, July 30 or Friday, July 31?

The correct fatwa is that in our country, "Yaome Arafar fast" should be observed on Friday, July 31. The next day, August 1, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in this country.

Many people say that we have to fast Arafat on Thursday, July 30 in our country. Their claim is not correct. Because, in this country, Thursday, July 30 is the 8th Hajj. The fast of 'Arafah should not be observed in 8 Zilhaj, but in 9 Zilhaj. And that is his next Friday. They may say that on Thursday, July 30, there will be 9 Zilhaj in Saudi Arabia, and on that day there will be Arafat in Okuf. Therefore, the pilgrims in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, have to observe the fast of Arafat on Thursday in our country, in line with the Aqeedah of Arafat. But their thinking is wrong. Because, first of all, fasting is in Yawm Arafat, not in Arafat in Yawm Okuf Maidan. Arafah in Yaom is the 9th day of Zilhaj. And Arafat in the field of Oquf in Yaom is the day of Oquf in the field of Arafat. The hadith says to fast on the day of Arafat, not on the day of ablution on the plain of Arafat. .

In fact, fasting on the 9th of Zilhaj is not an act associated with the pilgrims. Rather, this act is for those who are not pilgrims. Because, it is recommended for the pilgrims not to fast on this day. Therefore, since it is not the period of the Hajjis, therefore, it is wrong to specify 'Ya'um Arafah' of another country in conjunction with the period of the Hajjis.

Basically, because of the word 'Arafah Day', some people think that we should keep the fast of Arafah Day in line with the Oquf of Arafat in Saudi Arabia. But then in our country it is usually 7 Zilhaj. Which is not the day of Arafat for this country.

. On the other hand, according to the rules of Islam, the day after the day of Yawm Arafah or Arafah is the day of Yawmun Nahr or the day of sacrifice. In this case, if the fast of Arafah is observed in our country on the day of the stay of the pilgrims in Arafah together with Saudi Arabia, then it falls in that Zilhajj of our country - the day after which is not the day of sacrifice in our country. On the contrary, then 9 Zilhaj is performed in our country. But in this situation, if the fast of Arafah is observed in our country on the day of Uqf of the Arafat of the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, then the next day, i.e. 9 Zilhaj, has to be declared as the day of sacrifice in this country. But that cannot be done at all.

. So this is the final point, the purpose by Arafah in Yaom is the date of 9 Zilhaj. In other words, the date of 9 Zilhaj is the date of Yawm Arafah for that country. The eminent jurist Ibn Qudamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said about this:

As for the day of 'Arafah, it is the last day of Hajj "The purpose is by Yawm Arafah - the ninth day of the month of Zilhaj." (Al-Mughni, Volume 4, Page 442) . So it was understood that 'Yaome Arafah' is a term. The purpose of this is the 9th of Zilhaj. Thus, whatever the date of the region is, it will be termed as 'Yaome Arafah'. For this reason, all the jurists and muhaddiths have written in their books - The purpose of 'Ya'om Arafah' is the 9th day of Zilhaj.

. (See details: Tafseer Tabari, Volume 2, Page 298 / Al-Bahrul Muhith, Volume 2, Page 285 / Lisanul Arab, Volume 4, Page 2798, etc.) . It is also clear from the narration of the hadith of Tashreeq in the takbeer that the 9th Zilhaj was intended by Arafah in Yawm. ‘Takbeer Tashreeq’ is not a special act of Arafah or Uqf Arafah on the ground. Rather it is for all places in all countries. It starts from 9 Zilhaj Fajr. However, in the hadith narrated in this regard, the word 'Yawm Arafah' has been used to mean the 9th day of Zilhaj. See, it is mentioned in the hadith about this--

On the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him: He was greater after the Fajr prayer on the day of 'Arafah, to the Asr prayer from the last days of Tashreeq, and greater after the Asr prayer. It has been narrated from Hazrat Ali (RA) that he used to say Takbeer from the Fajr of Arafah in Yaom to the Asr on the last day of Tashreeq in Ayyam. He used to say takbeer after the Asr prayer that day. ” (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith No. 56, 57)

. Everyone agrees that the 9th day of Zilhajj is unanimously intended by Ya'um Arafah in this hadith and that it is the date of 9th Zilhajj in one's region. Otherwise, if Yawm Arafah means the day of Hajj for the pilgrims in Makkah, then in our country it is obligatory to recite Tashreeq in takbeer after Fajr. But no one said that. On the contrary, as our country, everyone started saying Tashreeq in Takbeer from 9 Zilhaj Fajr. In the same way, the ruling on the fast of Arafah in Yaom. Therefore, in that case also, the date of 9th Zilhaj should be considered as the Arafah of Yaum in one's own country.

Secondly, it is necessary to understand the basic theory in this regard. That is, if you want to do something in line with Saudi Arabia, you have to follow it. In this case, he will not be able to cross the country before that. Otherwise, what will be his followers

But if those people in our country start fasting on the morning of Sadiq on Thursday morning to coincide with Saudi Arabia or Mecca, it will be seen that they started fasting on the day of Yawf Arafa - three hours before the start of the fast on the day of Yawm Arafa in Saudi Arabia.

There are. In other words, in Saudi Arabia, the fast of Arafa will start in Yaom after three more hours. So they started fasting that day before Saudi Arabia. So how did they become followers of Saudi Arabia?

They overtook Saudi Arabia to observe the fast of 'Arafah in Ya'um. On the other hand, in order to count that day in this country as Arafah in Yaom, the beginning of that date must be taken from the time of sunset in the evening of that night.

But in this country, when 9 Zilhaj is caught in the evening, the time of 8 Zilhaj is going on in Saudi Arabia and there are three more hours left before the start of 9 Zilhaj. It is seen that those people of this country started 9 Zilhaj that evening and followed the 8 Zilhaj of Saudi.

9 did not follow Zilhaj. Therefore, this fast of theirs will be considered as the fast of 7 Zilhaj instead of the fast of Arafa in 9 Zilhaj Yawm. Therefore, if the people of this country want to fast on the day of Uquf in the Arafah Maidan of the pilgrims in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, then they have to follow the 9th Zilhaj of Makkah in Saudi Arabia. For this, they have to start fasting after the 9th of Zilhaj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Thus, in Saudi Arabia, whenever the sunset begins on the evening of the 8th of Zilhaj in the evening of the 9th of Zilhaj, the inhabitants of that area or country will follow the 9th of Zilhaj in Saudi Arabia and start fasting from Sadiq in the morning.

This will enable them to follow Saudi Arabia and fast on the same day in Yawm Arafa. And its stable period is - sunset in Saudi Arabia on the evening of the 8th of Zilhaj in the evening of the 9th of Zilhaj in any country within 24 hours of the start of the Arafah.

In this way, in any country of the world where the sun sets within 24 hours of the start of Yawm Arafah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, it will be considered as the same day as the start of Yawm Arafah in Saudi Arabia. This is because the solar and lunar days are completed by a 24-hour rotation - through which the sun and the moon orbit the earth in a 24-hour period.

Therefore, this 24 hour period will be considered as the same day of Saudi Arabia in the whole world. And after that 24 hours have passed, the next day will start in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and there will be no chance to follow that previous day. Because, after 24 hours have passed, the next day i.e.

10 Zilhaj will start in Saudi Arabia. So if anyone follows him, he will follow 10 Zilhaj of Saudi Arabia, not 9 Zilhaj. Therefore, after the start of 9 Zilhaj in Saudi Arabia, another country will get the opportunity to follow him and get 9 Zilhaj within 24 hours from the time of the start of that day in Saudi Arabia, i.e. from the time of sunset in the evening.

During this 24-hour period, when the sun sets in that country, that country will be considered a follower of Mecca in Saudi Arabia in the case of Yawm Arafat, and only then will the people of that area or that country get Arafah in Yawm and fast from Sadiq in the morning.

In fact, it is in this way that Allah has made the management of the world so that any day or moment in the space of 24 hours passes over the whole world. For this reason, when the Fajr Azan of one day was heard in Makkah, then the Azan of that Fajr started ringing in different parts of the world 24 hours a day after Makkah.

In this way, the call to prayer is uttered continuously all over the world for 24 hours. Thus all the acts of worship like Ramadan, Eid, Shabe Kwadar etc. are celebrated for 24 hours in the rotation of the moon and sun all over the world. In this way, no moment of the solar day or 24 hours of the earth is free from the utterance of the name of Allah. On the contrary, at every moment, the name of Allah is being uttered in some form of worship somewhere in the world.

In this case, the amazing diversity of creation is that Allah has created all the countries of the world in such a way that after one worship is performed in one country, it is performed in one country after another in a continuous process throughout the solar day or full moon day i.e. 24 hours. . But without realizing this miracle of Allah Almighty, many people want to celebrate fasting, Eid, etc. all over the world in unison with Saudi Arabia and at the same time they want to tarnish the creation of Allah Almighty.

Which is by no means consistent. I am giving an example to understand this issue. Suppose the train goes from Dhaka to Chittagong. The passengers of this train are in different places: some in Dhaka Kamalapur, some in Bhairab, some in Comilla, some in Feni etc. So not all passengers can get on the train at once or at the same time. Instead, when the train reaches the area, the people of that area will get on the train.

It will be seen - some got on the train at 4 pm, some got on the train at 5 pm, some got on the train at 6 pm, some got on the train at 8 pm and so on. The thing to consider is that everyone got on this train at different times in different areas, but everyone got on the same train on the same day. In the same way, all the countries of the world will not rise together in Yaom Arafa. However, it must be on the same day, i.e. 24-hour solar-lunar day.

On that solar-lunar day, all the countries will get Arafah in Yaom, subject to the moon reaching their respective places in phases. For this reason, from the time of Arafah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, all the countries have been waiting for the followers of Saudi Arabia's Makkah, and in a country where the sunset of the 9th of Zilhaj in the evening of the 9th of Zilhaj in Saudi Arabia, the inhabitants of that country become Saudi. He will get Arafat in Yaom and will fast Arafah in Yaom from Sadiq in the morning on the same day.

On that basis, after the start of 9 Zilhaj Yawm Arafah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, the day of 9 Zilhaj or Yawm Arafat will start in Bangladesh within 24 hours, i.e. 21 hours (although it falls on Friday as the solar bar). In this way, the fast of Arafat in Ya'um on the same day in Saudi Arabia will be considered in this country.

This is the correct way to observe the fast of Arafat on the same day as in Saudi Arabia. But those who do not realize the diversity of God's creation and start fasting when they see the Oqf of the pilgrims in Makkah in a rough way, they start fasting before the start of the fast in Yaum Arafah in Saudi Arabia, which is the beginning of the day in Saudi Arabia.

Being a follower of Zilhaj cannot be considered as “Fasting of Arafat in Yaom”. Rather, it will be considered as the fast of that Zilhaj because of being a follower of that Zilhaj in Saudi Arabia.

That is why we have to fast on 9th Zilhaj Friday in our country as Yawm Arafah. There is no other way. .
