The High Court has ordered to publish a gazette within 90 days recognizing 26 people of Sakhipur in Tangail as freedom fighters.
A High Court bench of Justice Jubayer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Kazi Jinat Haque passed the verdict on Monday. The verdict was given after a hearing on the rule issued in a writ petition of the concerned. A. on behalf of the writ petitioner in court

John filed a writ petition in the High Court in 2016 claiming to be a freedom fighter. The High Court ruled on December 15 of that year.
The rule included their names as freedom fighters and asked why they would not be published in the form of gazette.
