*Luke 23:39-42  And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.*

That is where the thief confess his faith on that very moment in time, he believe in Lord Jesus Christ & that is enough to save him.  The thief only have an or less hour to live but for we that are not crucified, with it be enough for us to stop doing good work and think you would be save? No!  We have to do something more than faith

*2 Peter 1:5-9  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.*

Faith is not enough if you are going to live the next day,  you have to accompany your faith with work of obedience to God

*1 Corinthians 3:3  For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?*

Love is greater than faith and love must not be absence in faith, faith must be coupled with love and hope, you cannot be save if you didn't have love

*1 Corinthians 13:1-3  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.*

Faith is enough only for the thief because he only have few hours to live,  he cannot do good works anymore
