Sometimes, situations around you could make you feel like the heavens are coming to crash upon your head. But that's not true. In the early church, the standard of righteousness was high and huge. Violators of the kingdom standard at that time paid a capital price. There was order and fear of God in the light of the operations of the Holy Spirit. The standard made excellence possible. Many priests today pretend to be serving the Lord but their ego is bigger than their callings and their heart is driven by glamour and vanities. The order of the towel is about selfless service. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples with water, and took towel to clean them up. He never did that with the believers of convenient christianity who are fond of coming to eat bread and fishes but will never give up their waywardness. Jesus, our worthy master epitomised humility and service that are rarely seen these days! At the moment, human standard have crumbled so badly and lawlessness have reigned without borders. Business procedures are manipulated. Due process is subverted and best practices are compromised. Political leadership is deployed to oppress and exploit the vulnerable such that life is shortened, brutish and subjugated
Today's churches are filled with consumers than inventors, excuse givers than trail blazers, singers without dignity, graduates without competencies and preachers without virtue. We have more tyrants and overlords running ministries. No generation can attain excellence in any sphere of life without purposeful, intentional and decisive action to follow the Lord. It must be with a vivid imitation of the pattern of Jesus Christ with emphasis on consistency between what is taught and what is lived. The time to raise such a generation is now
