You remember the characters of the fairy tales you were told as a child or the cartoons you watched, you will remember many characters such as children who do not grow up, princesses who do not wake up... Well, did you know that there are psychological disorders or personality disorders named after these characters? Are you ready for a journey where you will meet the fairy tale heroes who give names to psychological disorders?

Peter Pan Syndrome

Peter Pan, Disney's boy who wouldn't grow up. If you use this description for anyone in your life, they may have Peter Pan Syndrome. Although the condition is not officially recognized by the World Health Organization, some research has shown that it does exist. The syndrome is characterized by emotional immaturity and avoidance of responsibility, and is more common in men than in women.

Sleeping Beauty Syndrome

Sleeping Beauty is a princess who, at the age of 16, falls into a deep sleep after a spinning needle pricks her hand and is awakened years later by the prince's kiss. Real-life Sleeping Beauties may suffer from Klene-Levin syndrome, a neurological disorder characterized by prolonged sleep and changes in behavior.

In Klene-Levin cases, patients often feel lethargic and spend most of the day asleep, waking only to eat or go to the bathroom. This condition can last for months and can cause a person to fail at things that require them to keep going for long periods of time, such as work or going to school.

Rapunzel Syndrome

Rapunzel Syndrome is an intestinal disorder, also known as trichophagia, that usually occurs in people with psychiatric disorders and results in eating hair. Over the years, the hair eaten by sufferers accumulates in their stomach or small intestine and becomes a large ball. Since the human body cannot digest hair, this lump, called trichobezoar, must be surgically removed.

Rapunzel Syndrome is extremely rare, with only 24 cases reported so far. If your stomach is not strong enough, you may not want to look at the photos.

Bambi Complex

Named after Bambi, a cute little gazelle whose mother was shot dead, the complex is not officially recognized. People suffering from the Bambi Complex are highly emotional and sensitive to wild nature and animals. Hunting, fires and mistreatment of animals are the biggest sources of distress for these people.

Cinderella Complex

Cinderella, who has to sweep the house and prepare dinner while her mother and stepsisters go to balls, is one of the fairy tale heroines we all know. The Cinderella Complex is a condition in which women are overly dependent on men for emotional and financial support. Their greatest desire is usually to be rescued by Prince Charming.

First mentioned by Collette Downing in 1981, the condition is not officially recognized as a psychological disorder, but it can help women with this complex understand how they feel.
