"Cybercrime" refers to the crime that is committed using the Internet. Cybercrime has topped the list of crimes in the developed world. New laws have been created for cyber criminals. Some of the most talked about cyber crimes in the world today - 1. Cyber pornography; 2. Hacking 3. Spam; 4. Bombing; 5. Action games etc. Many people do not know about the introduction of cyber crime in Bangladesh or the law related to suppressing crime. The Information and Communication Technology Act 2006 gives us instructions in this regard. According to the law, the Internet means an international computer network through which users of computers, cellular phones or any other electronic system can communicate and exchange information with each other worldwide and view the information presented on the website. Section 57 of the Information Technology Act 2006 states, (1) If a person does any act for the purpose of harming the public or any person knowingly or knowingly causing harm, resulting in the destruction, cancellation or alteration of any computer resource or its value or Utility is reduced or otherwise damaged; (2) If he damages a computer server, computer network or any other electronic system by illegally accessing it, so that he is not the owner or occupier, then his act will be a hacking crime. Anyone found guilty of hacking will be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison. One crore rupees can be fined or both. Section 57 of the Information Technology Act 2006 states that if a person intentionally publishes or broadcasts something on a website or in any other electronic format, which is read and heard as a lie and obscenity or related situation, may incite to be immoral or dishonest. Occurs, law and order deteriorates or is likely to occur, tarnishing the image of the state or individual; If he or she hurts religious feelings or incites against an individual or organization through such information, then his or her actions will be considered a crime.
Punishment for cyber crime:
According to Section 54 of the Bangladesh Information and Communication Technology Act, 2006 (Amended 2013), it is an offense to damage a computer or computer system, such as sending an e-mail, spreading a virus, unauthorized access to a system or damaging a system. It carries a maximum sentence of 14 years imprisonment and a minimum imprisonment of 7 years or a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.
