Academic Pressure and Exam Stress on Students

If someone has Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), that's neurodevelopment. The extreme potential is going untapped because as a parent or likewise as a teacher we are not able to deal with this behavior of our child. So, normally our response is like that child is duffer or is weak in studies. we need to revisit from all perspectives whether someone is weak in studies or not. A natural kid is not born to cope with exam stress and academic pressure for sure. We always judge someone's capabilities with how smart and intelligent he is in his grades. Grades have a direct relation with anxiety and academic success. Child identity is always measured with the performance in studies in many cultures. If a child is struggling in academics and not achieving good marks in subjects, so the kid in his school, surrounding and as we as in cousins and relatives feel depressed with such attitude toward him. If the performance is challenged with only one parameter which is grades with obviously increases stress in students. In this time the personality is developing as well as self-esteem, their self-confidence is present and they look at themselves in the future and it's all under construction.

Parental pressure 

A Lot of times parents say they don't say anything but non-verbal communication is more threatening than verbal communication. you can say a lot of time without saying anything. for instance if the child gets 85% mark the parent will become happier but not more if they get 90% marks and the disappointment on the faces says a lot. these little things are absorbed like a sponge by the child at this immature age. the war of comparison also affect the psychology of the child, the university they will apply for so, an environment is manufactured which is difficult to survive for a child

Dealing with the uncertainty of pandemic

The uncertainty of covid-19 is as we don't know what will happen in the future. As the day-to-day decisions are continuously changing on the notification and breaking news around us such as lockdowns and closure of school systems has a major impact on the behavior of parents and children. Online schooling has its own challenges regard the adaptation of streaming, videos, and connectivity of the internet hence the system is compromised in developing countries. for example, if there are four children they need 4 tablets and having classes at the same time increases parental stress. Immense training is needed regarding shifting from face to face environment to virtual classes  

Embedding mental well being in the curriculum

Due to a lack of data, we don't know where to intervene and develop the system accordingly. there are different levels of prevention such as universal preventions. Most of the time the knowledge is not skill-based. The curriculum needs to be according to the manuals of WHO which emphasize cognitive learning and how to deal with interpersonal stress management. If we teach this skill from the very start it will impact their future. It's an ecosystem that needs to be established by taking all stakeholders and administration on board for effective policymaking. Last but not least its a cultural change that will not happen overnight and will slowly and gradually trickle down
