★As soon as he came to write something about his mother, the poet Kalidas Roy Bayazid Bostami's remarkable picture of motherly devotion in his childhood poem 'Matribhakti' floated on the screen of his mind. A child who stays up all night waiting for his mother to wake up with a glass full of water in his hand, such a scene is very rare in reality! We have also read the story of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar swimming on a stormy dam at the risk of his own life on a stormy night, just to reach his sick mother. That is why they are different from the other ten. This is possible for them, the example they have set before us, the duty of the child for the mother, devotion should be the same. But what we see around us is the place of the mother, the place in our society, the role of the mother in the family, the contribution that the mother receives from her children in exchange for it. I read a lot of cruel news about insulting my mother in the newspapers nowadays, which is also unworthy of condemnation.

★Times have changed! Our lifestyle has changed to meet the needs of life. We have moved from the idea of a joint family to a nuclear family. Where older parents seem to be overstretched. In most cases, the reality is that we are deprived of the opportunity to take proper care of our parents. Again, in many cases we lack sufficient goodwill. Older parents are in many cases backdated, old fashioned in our way of thinking and living. Generation gap, modernity, smartness and helpless mothers also become child status concerns in today's society. Unfortunately, the winds of change in our personal lives have not blown in the same way in social life as well as in the state policies and regulations. The state does not take any responsibility for the health and well-being of our senior citizens. In fact, according to our social norms, it is an unwritten custom that in old age parents will be in charge of the child. Because, our parents take all the responsibility to establish their life including education of their children with their wealth, property, money and prestige. In return, in old age, the responsibility of the parents falls on the child. So the state has no liability here. This is an unwritten agreement of our social customs. Western family customs, way of life is different from ours. As soon as the child reaches the age of eighteen, they live an independent life. They earn their own living, they are different from their boyfriends and girlfriends, that is the norm. In some cases, even after the age of 18, the parents provide financial support to the child, even on the basis of ability, never taking full responsibility. Children have similar relationships with their parents, but in old age they do not take care of them. That is the responsibility of the state.

★Because in a Western family the distance between the child and the parent is created due to the reality, the mother and child spend some fun time together, eat out, buy gifts for the mother, write cards and express their gratitude to the mother. On this day. Mother's Day is celebrated through a number of festivals. Mother's Day is also celebrated loudly in Bangladesh. At least the excitement surrounding Mother's Day on social media is largely a storm. I think the show off competition is going on. In fact, it is a matter of concern how much time these post donors give to their mother at home, how much they behave responsibly, how much they respect her. In the society of Bangladesh, Mother's Day seems to be a bit of a messy, copy-paste culture. In the country, mothers live with their children, mothers who do not have sons live with their daughters. The mother has more than one son, she lives in the house of different sons by dividing the month. This is the traditional rule of our society. This is how our mothers live in old age. But what do we know, how are the mothers of this section or the mothers of single children? There are many children around us who do not even talk to their mother day after day from under one roof. When my mother is sick, I don't even look at her to see if she is playing or not. Because they are busy, they lack time. Or talking to a backdated mother does not pet them.

★The condition and position of our mothers in the family has also come up in various works of art and literature. The form of mother depicted in the famous poet Humayun Azad's poem 'Our Mother' is in fact the most famous form of the mother of our country. He said, ‘In front of my father, my mother looked very insignificant, so my mother would not even think of telling you.’ And mothers are very weak, tender! He said, ‘Mother was the petal of the forest flower, mother was the milk rice, mother was the paddy field.’ This is the eternal character of the mothers of our society. Mothers are eternally tender, eternally ill, representative of the eternally weak. This is the omnipresent truth. The picture of the mother that I see in Rabindranath's poem 'Remembering' also smells of the mother with the scent of Pujo, the mother's face floats in the poet's memory with the morning dew on Ashwin's hyacinth. In fact, mothers used to dedicate their lives to worship, family, children, husband, mother-in-law and mother-in-law. The poet has no more memories of his mother. This is a common picture of our mothers in rural Bengal. Poet Shamsur Rahman wrote in his poem 'Kabhi Amar Maake' that he may never have dared to write a song in his mother's mind for fear of the elders. Or even when she came to her husband's house, she never heard him sing in the space of washing dishes, tying her hair and sewing. In Kazi Nazrul Islam's poem 'Mother', he says, 'Mother's face is lost, all sorrow goes away. Parana lying on her mother's lap. Forget all the pain in the mother's cold lap and fill the mother's chest with so much caress. He also fasts more than the child's face. Why isn't she that mother. '

★On Mother's Day, where Western ideas originated, let's take a look at the perception of the mother of some Western personalities: 'You give me an educated mother, I will give you an educated nation .'— Napoleon Bonaparte The result is a picture of my mother hanging on the wall of my living room, because she is the biggest attraction to me .'— Ellen de Generis Lauren: "My mother thinks I'm the best, and I'm the best because she thinks I'm the best." - Diego Maradona "Whoever has a mother is not poor." - Abraham Lincoln. 'My mother is wonderful and another name for excellence to me .'' Michael Jackson 'Mother is the best cheerleader in life, who does not need a uniform .'— Rachel Goodrich , With emphasis on contributions and intelligence. Because, they have got that honor and dignity in their family and life. Napoleon's famous statement about mother clearly shows their elevated position about mother. On the other hand, starting from Rabindranath, the weak, self-forgetful and selfless character of our mothers has come to the fore in the writings of everyone. Because, our society has taught, mother will be selfless, dedicated to the family and children. Behind this contradictory feature of society, there is an obvious character of deprivation of mother. Silent torture has kept the exhausted face of the mother in a high status. We also forgot that mother has a great badge in this character, mother is also a human being! He also has anger, pride, happiness and sorrow, hunger and thirst, human and biological needs. In our society, there is no end to the number of child widows who have sacrificed. Many widows and divorced women also do not remarry by looking at the face of the child. There are many mothers who endure the injustice of their husbands for the rest of their lives because of their children. The mother herself does not want to think of her own separate entity for fear of slander. This cultural practice of our society has not made mothers human, it has only made helpless women.

★So in a country where women are not human beings, there is no reason for mothers to be honorable. Women will never be entitled to dignity if the state does not reduce gender inequality in society. We blindly imitate many things in the West, at the same time we think that our position as a nation is much higher. We are also proud of our culture. I also think that our family customs and mutual bonds are very strong. In fact, there are many human values in Western social practices, from which we can learn a lot. #image_source: goggle
