Give Me This Mountain

In the year 2014, Japanese climber, Yuichiro Miura climbed the tallest mountain in the world i.e mounts Everest, at the age of 80. And by that, he became the oldest man to climb the mountain. It was said that that was his third time reaching the summit. And he is looking forward to climbing the mountain again at 90.

The fact remains that Yuichiro wouldn't have thought of climbing a mountain of such height if he hasn't been a climber from an early age. I have seen a man that is very agile in his early 40s afraid of climbing the ladder to the second floor of a building. He is not a climber. Staying on a high attitude will be the last thing he will ever do. The reason is that he didn't learn that in his youth. It was not built into his system.

The Bible says it is good for a man to bear his yoke when he is young. The youthful time is the time you have the strength to do many things. That is the time you can stretch yourself and prove your ability and capability. Not when you are old and you've lost interest in vibrant and youthful engagement.

For Caleb, taking the mountain at 70, was not a big deal, because he has been a mountain taker from an early age (Joshua 14 v6. He has proven his ability and built up capacity early in life. And by that, he still relishes taking another mountain. That is why he told Joshua at 70 to give him the mountain.

Now that you are young, what mountain are you taking for the Lord? What area of life are you exploring and engaging for dominion and kingdom influence? Will you be able to say like Yuichiro at 90 that you are going to climb Everest if you didn't climb it now? Will you be able to say Caleb give me the mountain? Wishing you a week of great exploits? Keep winning 💪.
