Born on the 21st of March 1985 in Benony, East Rand Gauteng province of South Africa, Vusi Thembekwayo was raised up by a struggling parents with peasant means of income, in a violent and crime field environment of South Africa. Vusi vividly watched his father being gunned down with a rifle by criminals who attacked him on the way not knowing the father of Vusi was a professional Marshall Art fighter. When they discovered that they couldn't have their way, they brought out a rifle and shot him severally before he drops on the ground and gave up the ghost.

This event of course affected young Vusi, the family and it actually made life difficult and hard for him. The days became dark and deem. He was left with his Mum, who had to struggle as a woman to put food on the table for the children and at the same time train them up to be the best they can in whatever they are into and become responsible in the society. For Young Vusi those days were really trying days. Those were days he had to hope in the mist of hopelessness. Those were days he had to keep believing even in the midst of unbelieve. Those were days he had to beam out his light as beacon of hope and joy. Those were days that he had to look within, when the light is going deem outside there, knowing fully well he is a beacon of hope to his generation and generations yet unborn.

A beacon is light of hope in the mist of darkness or hopelessness. A beacon is a light of joy in the mist of sadness or any form of unpleasant situation. And the fact is that sometimes we've been through some dark times and experience some unpleasant situations, which requires you and I to shine as a beacon of hope and Joy, else our victory or survival may become bleak and dicy.

I'm saying that, People have being through things that made them look like the opposite of who they are or who they should be. People have had to believe the unbelievable. People have had to face and dare their fear. People have had to hope against hope. People have had to stand when all around them seem falling and shaky. People have had to beam out as beacon of hope, even when darkness seems to want to prevail. The stories of greatness has always been from grass to grace. The stories of champions has always been from starlet to stardom, from captivity to freedom, knowing fully well they are beacons of hope in the midst of darkness.

For David the shepherd boy, he was the least of his father's (Jesse) son. He doesn't in anyway look like a king by virtue of his work, dressing and local shepherd life style. He has always been in the bush yet destined for palace.

1 Samuel 16:11

"And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remain yet the youngest, and, behold, he keeps the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither."

He has always been ordered about yet, destined to be a commander. He seems to be behind, yet he was meant to lead. He killed Goliath, not with a sword, but a sling. A beacon he was even in the midst of gross darkness.

Many times a number of people don't look like the hope they are. A number of persons seems not to look like the help they are. Even Jesus was not looking like the saviour that he was on the cross of Calvary. Joseph was not looking like a Prime Minister in prison. Esther was not looking like a queen, in slavery. Nehemiah was not looking like a governor or a nation builder as a cup bearer. It doesn't look like Nehemiah has what it takes to build the wall of Jerusalem, where as he has found favour from the king of Babylon and well connected to get what he needs for the work ahead. Nehemiah and all the above mentioned names are beacons of hope for God's chosen ones, even though they weren't looking like it in the first place.

Thus, as a child of God, you should know for sure that you are that light of Joy and hope. You are that beacon the world is waiting for.

Matt 5:14

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

You are the light of the world. You are a city set on a hill that can not be hidden. You are meant to lighten up the atmosphere. You are meant to bring transformation to your world. You are meant to change things for better. You are to grow and develop your world. The question is, how do I lighten my world? How do I bring hope and Joy to a hopeless world? How do I transform my world for better? This will lead us to the next topic and which is the action point in our next edition. Trust me, you don't want to miss it. But till then, never forget you are a beacon of hope and Joy.
