My Struggles With The Gemini Exchange Continue Not your keys; not your crypto! (We need to keep repeating this to ourselves over and over and over and over.) If you read my prior post, https://noise.cash/post/1q9j6wqg ,(hey, does copy-paste no longer work on noise.cash, or am I doing something wrong?), you know that Gemini "froze" one of the accounts I own with them for ..... well, for "reasons" which to date they have been unwilling to tell me. It has been almost a week now with no response from them, so just today I filed a complaint against Gemini with the New York Attorney General's Office. I'm not holding my breath, but hopefully the NY Attorney General's Office will encourage Gemini to "unfreeze" my funds. Gemini boasts about how compliant they are with the laws of New York state, so maybe a complaint filed with a regulatory agency will prompt them to act? Unfortunately, like most legal systems, the legal system of the USA is heavily influenced by money, of which Gemini has vastly more than I do. Fortunately, I don't have a whole bunch of money locked away in this account, just about $1,300.00 , which is enough to be painful, but not enough to cause me grievous financial harm. What I am much more worried about is my other account held by Gemini. It is a Roth IRA which I opened via DirectedIRA, and currently contains about $7,000.00 . Losing access to that account would really, really suck! Disturbingly, when I explained my current difficulties with Gemini to the folks at DirectedIRA, they were less than sympathetic or helpful. Because of this, I will need to transfer my money out of that Roth IRA, which is something I do NOT look forward to, as it is a considerable nuisance.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. It is indeed 'NYKNYC'. We all forget that crypto was invented to take back our financial freedom. I lost life changing money on Coinflex and will never use another centralised exchange ever again. I am looking forward to BCH Bull by General protocols. I can trade or hedge against volatility in a peer 2 peer smart contract. Yes there is still a risk of the smart contract being hacked. But unlike Ethereum where everyones crypto is in the same pot. On BCH everyone has an individual pot so a hacker is very unlikely to put in the time and effort to hack the smart contract to get a few hundred bucks. I really hope they succeed, my long term trategy is to wait until the next crypto all time high and then lock my crypto at that price. At least a percentage of it and hopefully BCH Bull will have had a couple of years of live testing.
Yeah, if it's not Coinflex stealing from us, then it's Celsius, or Gemini, or Coinbase, or some other group of clowns. Seems like the deck is stacked against us at the moment.
