The Crypto Markets Are Kicking My Butt!! I guess I need to pay more attention to @BitcoinBaby, because right now I am way down in my crypto investments. As some of you may recall, I put a total of $2,300 USD into crypto in three separate occasions back in January. ( https://noise.cash/post/12gzpj77 , https://noise.cash/post/l4x37q8j , and https://noise.cash/post/18528236 , the last purchase being when I gave up and bought $100 of that shitty ETH.) Woo hoo, huh? Well, what's all this stuff worth right now? Uh ..... would you believe just over $1,800? Yip ..... eeeeekk!! That's about $500 up in smoke! And believe it or not, that money is NOT easy come, easy go, at least for me. *** EDIT - I was losing $500, NOT $5,000!! *** My best performer is BTC, who has only declined to about $188. My worst performer? The stinker known as Algorand, who is currently lagging behind at about $118. Then again, two of my favorite coins, Solana and Cardano, aren't all that much ahead of hapless ALGO. So, I take a deep breath, close my eyes to this hopefully temporary madness, and remember that I am invested in crypto for the LONG TERM. I may not see a profit on these coins for a year or more, but I am betting that once that profit comes, it will be prophetic in its magnitude. * ================================================================ * Yeah, that last phrase doesn't make a whole lot of sense, because I was trying to be clever with my use of the words "profit" and "prophetic", but all I did was misuse the latter word. Hey, cut me a break! I'm traumatized by all these cryptos bleeding out their value.

Are you getting interest at least? You can do it on Nexo for about 4 to 8% or on Defi Right now Benswap is paying 28% for BCH-FleUSD staking.
I have some crypto on BlockFi that I am getting interest on, which I set up before the stupid SEC slammed BlockFi, causing that platform to block all Americans. I also have some stable coin crypto on Gemini getting about 8%. I downloaded the Thor Wallet to my iPhone, and was gonna invest in it today, but then I saw how poorly everything was doing on my Coinbase account, so I lost interest. Actually the purchase on Coinbase is kinda an experiment I'm doing for Noise.cash. What happens if you buy crypto and just keep it on an exchange for a year?
Interesting, re: What happens if you buy crypto and just keep it on an exchange for a year? The biggest inflows into Defi are from exchanges. It looks like the exchange is using your coins to get the interest. I think Crypto Tips on YT had the details froma couple of days ago. You cant blame them, if unethical.
Short term I have given up a bit on crypto. Thing is, there is absolutely NO predictability. I mean, stock markets can't be predicted either. But I have TONS more date to work with to at least make a very accurate guess.
Yeah, investing in crypto is like shooting in the dark, especially short term. I believe that crypto is as close to a sure thing as possible in the long term, so I keep investing in it, but I could be wrong.
I am still in it. I guess for me I am just sitting things out a bit. I bought quite a bit into the beginning of this most recent dip. I want to see where it goes from here before I plunk down any more bucks. I still buy a bit occasionally, but not at the rate I was before.
Crypto is in bear season now. A long one at that based on what I've read. I just have been HODLING. Hope we see a recovery soon.
You and me both! I've been "buying the dip", but if the markets keep dipping, I'm just gonna have to sit on the sidelines and watch.
