On a normal day
Things are not supposed to be hard like this
We are not supposed to suffer before we pay our bills
The Holy Writ in the Genesis of man,
Describes us as dominators, landlords and overseers
Dominators have now seen tormentors
Landlords don't even own a room
Overseers are already losing vision
On a normal day, things are not supposed to be like this
Give us this day, our daily bread
Though our whole has become shreds
Our garments are now unfixable threads
And our bed mops the tears we shed each night
Tied in darkness and hoping for light
Give us this day, our daily bread
Serve it in the manner of the Israelites' manna
For our daily anthem has been themed "hunger"
On a normal day, it's not supposed to be so
We are supposed to eat the fruit of the seed we have sown
But how can we eat what hasn't grown?
The land is dry as the sand of the desert
And the rain has now become a prayer point
On a normal day, we are not supposed to get to this point
Better days are ahead
But abnormal days are here now
When are we going back to normal days?
On a normal day, democracy is supposed to be our thing
But this I know, democracy has become an autocracy
Governed by people stricken by illiteracy
Please, when are we going to run from this craze?
They are cutting off our benefits
Making a mess of the future of the children
Feeding fat on the corruption
Yet they are shouting 'It is grace'
Stop tagging your craze with grace
Stop joking with grace!
On a normal day, everyone is supposed to feel alright
But how will it be when all that is left is fear?
Bring back our normal day
Where we can grin from ear to ear
Move from here to there
Without the fear of war and abduction
Where we can come together as a nation
To wash our dirty linen and revive our land
Better days are ahead
Abnormal days are here
Normal days, we pray for
Let the land be green again
And children dance to the tune of fulfilled promises.
Normal days ahead should come fast is our prayer and hope. Enough of abnormal days. Thanks for the update
