Back to my virtual laboratory tour and my introduction to laboratory instruments. This one is what we call a hydrolysis hood. It's mainly used as an air filter, actually. since we mostly use sulfuric acid for protein digestion and hydrolysis of fats, this machine is used to make sure that no fume is leaked. all the fume gets diffused into that blue scrubber solution and once the scrubber solution turns green, it means it should be replaced with new scrubber solution
