Been thinking hard about my career track today cuz my cousin was asking if I wanted to try being a forensics chemist. And I'm honestly considering it since the pay is better than in the Industry, so is the work schedule yet the risk is higher

If he's asking than give it a try and if you can do it without getting tired than what's more better than that also when pay is better

What is the "risk" in being a chemist? Unless you're working in an illegal drug manufacturing place, I would think being a chemist is a pretty safe profession.
Nahh the fact that we're in a lab is risky enough but being a forensic chemist heightens the risk cuz we're more prone to getting kidnapped 🤣🤣🤣 since we'll be handling the evidence firsthand
Kidnapped? Folks who work with the cops get kidnapped here in the Philippines? Yikes! Your corruption runs deeper than I thought, and much deeper than my wife lets on. :-(
Well yeah, it's not that rare for us in the chem community to find out one's been kidnapped. But that's also mainly because we can make crystal meth too. But also because we have access to evidence. So fairly risky career path
Oh my! And here I was thinking that only foreigners like me had to worry about being kidnapped, because of the "perception", (which in my case does NOT match reality, unfortunately), that we are all rich.
Well that's solely based on the fact that you guys can fly here and that plane tickets cost a fortune to most
Yes, those plane tickets are painfully costly. I do know some Filipinos who haven’t been “home” in 20 years or more.
Yeah, well a lot of people choose not to come back too due to acclimation and cuz some people just don't have anything to return to anymore

My wife was gone for about 14 years, and she seems to have eased right back in to Filipino life with no troubles at all. Although .... she does talk about going back to the USA to do some shopping. :-)

Yeah, she talked with her sister a lot. And her mama was living with us for a while in the USA.
