So my sister and dad opened 2 sacks of books in the garage and I was really hoping for more Stephen king BUT WHEN I SAW TOLKIEN, I WAS SO TEMPTED SO I TOOK THOSE BACK WITH ME OWO I also found the first book to this seeker series I used to see in book shops. Now I gotta look for the other books before I can start on this one. And maybe the other Tolkien books ;;-;; but that's okay ;;w;; I have the free time after boards to go book hunting ❤️

Tolkien can get tedious sometimes, as he bogs down in the details. I could get thru Lord of the Rings and Hobbit, but not his other stuff. Do you like Sci-Fi? I like PK Dick a lot, probably because he was paranoid just like me.
I'm giving Tolkien a try since I'm pretty sure not everything was in the movie ;;-;; I'm more into horror and thriller like king and Lovecraft but I do appreciate some sci fi ones. I don't know PK Dick though. What book did he write?
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep - the Blade Runner movie was loosely, (very loosely!), based on this. The Man in the High Castle A Scanner Darkly The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said Ubik - kinda weird. Maybe for PK Dick fans only? PK Dick deals with the psychological uncertainly of existence and reality. If that's not your cup of tea, you may not like him. Also, since lots of movies were inspired by his short stories, you might want to get a collection of those. And NO, I have not read all of these.
I think... I'm too young for an existential crisis 😅😅😅 but I think I'll look up those short stories. It'll give me a good intro to his work and then I'll decide if I can handle the novels 😅 because I like psychological uncertainties but most I've read still have thriller tendencies to them
And another thing to watch out for. In his later years he was a drug addict, so IMHO some of his later novels, (Valis, for example), are unreadable. Or maybe I'm just too stupid to understand them?
Kind of the case for Poe 🤣 half of what man wrote was something I can't understand so we might be in the same boat there 😂
Poe was a very intelligent man, and a very good writer when he wasn't drunk. If you want something that is IMPOSSIBLE to read, try some Henry James, the author of The Golden Bowl.
Okay I don't know Henry James at all and maybe that's for a good reason 😂😂 Please spare my brain from impossible authors 🤣
