I own a Twenty One Pilots band shirt made in the UK. The Oxecure Acne Clear Powder Mud I use to clear my pimples was made in Thailand. The Mongol Dust-Free Eraser I have was manufactured in China while my Faber-Castel LV7 Pen is from Malaysia. My Realme Phone was assembled in Indonesia. The Nescafe Classic Coffee stick is produced in the Philippines, so does my MSA College Admission Simulated Test Book. I wear a Banana Republic Premium Polo Shirt made in Cambodia and American Eagle shorts made in Bangladesh. I have items at home made in the Philippines and, of course, made outside the country. And why? It's not just simply export importation.

I possess some garments, gadgets, skincare products, and stationeries from foreign countries because of economic globalization that refers to the international mobility of people, capital, technology, services and products. I noticed that my khaki shorts and polo shirt were manufactured in  Cambodia and Bangladesh despite the companies originated and having headquarters in the USA. I learned that these companies moved their capital and production to developing countries for cheaper labor. That explains the large textile and garment industry in developing countries especially in Bangladesh, whose export of garments is its principal source of foreign exchange earnings. This does not only applies on production of garments, most electronics, stationeries and other goods were produced in Asia even though the multinational companies were from other bigger countries (Faber-Castel -Germany, Mongol-Canada, Realme-China). Another thing, the coffee were made in the Philippines but it’s from a  Swiss multinational and the largest food and beverage company, Nestle. To sum it up, I have my clothes, phone, stationeries and skin care made in other nations and even the other products made in our country listed above because of Economic Globalization— the products were able to be transported from a country to another, also the company making them and the workforce, technologies and raw materials needed.

The creation of organizations, agreements, and partnerships among countries such as ASEAN Free Trade Area Agreements (ATIGA), General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), and World Trade Organization (WTO), aimed for free flow of products, services and investments and regulations. I have numerous items listed above that were made outside the country that made it successfully, faster and easier here because of these agreements and partnerships. In general, thanks to economic globalization— the integration of countries in the global economy.

The Philippines depends on the import of electronics, petroleum products, machinery, motor and communication parts and others. While other nations depends on the country’s export of metals, fruits, electronics, wood crafts and more. Because of economic globalization—the interdependence of different countries and regions across the world, I have items from other countries especially my phone a part of our country’s largest import.

In conclusion, I have these numerous items for variety of interconnected reasons. The movement of the goods, services, technology, information and capital all over the world; the partnerships and agreements of countries in the global economy; and the interdependence of countries and regions on their products, services and investments across the world, I have the items listed , particularly, the imported ones. Lastly, all defines the economic globalization. Which means I been able to have items made in other countries because of economic globalization.

How about you? What items you are using that were made outside the country? Is it a good thing or a band thing?

Also, let us not forget to support our local brands. Support local business. And support our country.

Big thanks to globalization, haha. Globalization does not only include the import and export of products; it's more than that. Looking forward for another article about globalization by you. Haha. Nice article by the way. Stay safe and see you around.
