So what is ethereum?
Ethereum is a decentralized, open source, and distributed computing platform that enables the creation of smart contracts and decentralized applications, also known as dapps.
Smart contracts are computer protocols that facilitate, verify, or enforce the negotiation and performance of some sort of agreement. For instance, a smart contract could be used to represent a legal contract emulating the logic of contractual clauses or a financial contract specifying responsibilities of the counterparts and automated flows of value.
Who is the founder of Ethereum?
In 2012, aged 17, Vitalik Buterin was introduced to Bitcoin by his father and became very interested in its technology. Vitalik began writing for bitcoin magazine and suggested improvements to the Bitcoin platform. When these improvements weren’t made, he decided to make his own cryptocurrency instead.
His idea was Ethereum, and it went live in 2015. Since it started, Ethereum’s price has gone up a lot and it now has a market cap of $35Bn (that’s the total value of all Ethereum currency in the world today

You can buy ethereum on 3 main sources;
