Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin cash exchange Coinbase has launched the Coinbase Giving charity program. Its goal is "to expand economic freedom for every person or company around the world." The program includes three main categories: Raising the level of education and access to cryptocurrency; Accelerating the development of the protocols that underlie cryptoeconomics; Raising the next generation of professionals. “Coinbase Giving is committed to not only supporting charities that share our mission and values, but also to manage their own programs from start to finish,” it said. In the first phase, the company will integrate GiveCrypto, a nonprofit organization, with Coinbase as a private foundation. In the second, it is planned to allocate $ 2 million to expand the Crypto Community Fund program. The third point is a partnership with the non-profit organization Base 11. As part of this work, Coinbase will launch a recruiting program in June. In September 2020, the trading platform refused to participate in discussions on political and social topics, unless they affect the cryptocurrency industry. Disagreeing with this decision, the head of the exchange, Brian Armstrong, offered to resign. In October, 60 people left the company, including the head of international marketing, John Russ.
