I will be the morning bird.
Kazi Nazrul Islam's poem 'I will be a morning bird' seems to be closely associated with our childhood. Suzy Mama will get up before I wake up. I don't know how many times I have crossed the line. But I realized much later that there was a natural thing involved with waking up before Suzy Mama woke up. The time before Suzy Mama wakes up is Sadiq's time in the morning. The holiest moment on earth. The calm-living, solitary-immaculate moment is Sadiq in the morning. How many of us can be Sadiq's bumblebee in the morning, even though he repeatedly talks about being a bird in the morning? Our nights are spent in merriment. And in the morning we are asleep and unconscious. In our unconsciousness, morning passes and noon passes. We cannot be Nazrul's morning bird, nor can we become Sadiq's buzzing bumblebee in the morning.
Our daily failures as Muslims begin at dawn. Not being able to attend the Fajr prayer means that the day begins with defeat to Satan. We don't like the word 'defeat'! We dislike being defeated. We do not want to fail the test. Rhythm falls somewhere in life - that's the thing we don't expect. But
We have no qualms about being defeated, being defeated, being humiliated by the devil day after day. No time to worry. It is as if we came into the world to be defeated by Satan. But one of the reasons Satan is cursed is to deny our worthiness as human beings, and we are Ashraful Makhlukat! The best creature in creation! Yet in the course of life we have to accept the shameless defeat of Satan.
