Petitioners' appeal, "Remove "365 Days" from Netflix for Glorifying Stockholm Syndrome and Abuse"

It was successfully adapted to a movie that first aired on Netflix on June 9, 2020, at the height of covid-19. Starring Michele Morrone as Don Massimo Torricelli and Anna-Maria Sieklucka as Laura Bie.Ā
So far, more than 88,000 people have signed the petition to remove the movie from Netflix due to the alleged issues of "Glorifying Stockholm Syndrome and Abuse" according to a statement by petitionerĀ Sophia VenablesĀ onĀ Change.orgĀ "I am appalled that Netflix would release such a blatant propagation of human trafficking. Human trafficking is an almost 150 billion dollar global industry - only second to drug trafficking - with millions of enslaved persons around the globe. "
"For Netflix to make a movie glorifying sex slavery is not only in bad taste, but it continues to perpetuate sexual stereotypes of women being treated as property and sexual conquests, as well as promoting Stockholm Syndrome."
Despite the Petition and zero-rating on Rotten Tomatoes which is an online review and critic for movies and TV shows. The said film still dominates Netflix which has become a Top Movie in many countries in the last 3 months.
Meanwhile, according to The Guardian they are not involved in its production, it only licensed the film.
"We believe strongly in giving our members around the world more choice and control over their Netflix viewing experience," the spokesman said.
"Members can choose what they do and do not want to watch by setting maturity filters at a profile level and removing specific titles to protect from content they feel is too mature."
