Forget the minimalist apartments located at the top of the skyscraper! Instagram is flooded with modern farmers making their garden a real little work of art. By appearance coronavirus things have completely changed for us. Until recently, we dreamed of walking the busy streets of New York or London, but now we look at them from a completely different angle. Who would say that the profession of farmers will become IN to such an extent that whoever you ask where it is seen in a few years, the answer is - in the countryside.

The Danish theory of happiness called hygge has gone out of fashion, a new term has entered the big door, fugue. The pandemic that is plaguing us and it is certain that the virus will circulate for some time to come, has prompted us to take a step inside and led us to return to our roots. We started hanging out more with the family and thinking about the true values we once really held. We connected with the planet we live on only when we realized that power is not always in our hands. Therefore, it is not surprising that the village has become so tempting.

And where did the fugue come from? It comes from China, a country that produces everything you can think of. Fugu was created when Chinese youth became even more proud of their tradition. This is confirmed by a study from a Chinese university where Professor Yang found that their millennials have completely new habits. They dress in traditional costumes, exchange electric cars for donkeys, and fast food for home-grown groceries.

Currently, the most popular leader of this trend is Liziqi, an Instagram star whose every post exudes serenity and nature. Dressed in traditional clothes, she mostly harvests fruit from her own garden and gathers more and more fans day by day. Some have gone so far as to call her secretly working for the Chinese government, which by force wants to reduce population congestion and populate the provinces as soon as possible so as not to fall into oblivion.

The fugu trend has not only driven distant China crazy, there is interest in farms all over the world. From England, whose idyllic country side life is nurtured by the royal family itself, all the way to Croatia.

There is something irresistible in the rural way of life, the carefreeness it brings with it, the beautiful landscape and the healthy diet, and none of that needs a filter. No wonder this change occurred, just remember how many times in quarantine you had to go for a digital detox because your brain was overwhelmed with information and the pandemic going to the store turned into a complicated operation, which made you want to have your own garden. .

Many wanted to push the log out button, but the most likely option nonetheless was to move to the countryside away from viruses and technology. But there is always that ‘but’. Living in harmony with nature is not so cheap. Especially village life in the 21st century where likes “splash” on a photo of a gorgeous pumpkin. In addition, in order to have a carefree and happy rural life, you must have a flexible job or be your own boss, because to maintain a garden and a house, you also need tools in which you need to invest a lot.

Everyday life of the new millennium has become so cruel that we actually envy the lives of our grandparents, even though we barely chewed the story of our parents, who got up every morning at four, fed the animals and 99.9% of cases walked to school that had to be away from their houses a minimum of 20 miles. We logically were not able to wake up at zero hour and go to the school that was mostly behind our building.

Among the well-known Croats, the trend of returning to the countryside was among the first to be embraced by PR expert Lana Klingor Mihić, who moved with her family near Zagreb to her oasis of peace. Lana lives there with her husband and three daughters, and thanks to the fact that she turned part of the house into an office and a professional kitchen, she manages to run a successful business from there.

Actor Dušan Bućan, who lives on a ranch with horses, also found his peace in the countryside. A great lover of the rural way of life and a proud owner of a farm, Dušan lives in the village of Golinja, which is about 50 kilometers away from Zagreb, and he has decided to come to Zagreb on horseback several times.

The actors were obviously fed up with the lights of the metropolis because Marija Borić Jerneić also lives her rural idyll. A few years ago, she moved from Zagreb to her hometown of Stubičke Toplice, where she spends every day in the garden, working in the winter and enjoying a higher quality of life.

This was realized by the Split actor Slavko Sobin, who this year invested in a house in the countryside where he will plant beets, onions, tomatoes and other vegetables, while next year he plans to move permanently to his green corner. This year, the village has become a permanent choice for many favorite actress and presenter Doris Pinčić. Today she enjoys an idyll with geese and chickens, surrounded by fields and far from glamorous. Moreover, far from the store, but at least she never hid how much she is attracted to a simpler lifestyle.

Sanja Doležal and Ivana Banfić also chose to live away from the city bustle. And while Sanja moved to Donji Zvečaj on Mrežnica, Ivana chose the river Kupa and life in the vicinity of Sisak.

Research shows that life in the countryside is better for mental and physical health. Simply, you live happier and happier. We are becoming more and more anxious in the city, and this is confirmed by a study by the American University of Michigan, which says that noisy city streets affect the brain, making it harder for it to receive information.

Flats with a view of the asphalt in us, the research claims, provoke aggression. They do not teach us in vain from an early age to relax green. Hurry up with the decision until it is too late because after the rampant prices of apartments in the city, it is logical that this trend will move to the countryside. So, prepare starters for bread, pick fresh flowers and blend in with nature. The sooner, the better because factory settings always mean a good start.
