Bilombi is a kind of sour fruit. Its scientific name is Averrhoa bilimbi.In English it is called Cucumber tree or Tree sorrel .It is a lot like Kamranga fruit to eat.That is why it is called the fruit of the Kamranga tribe because if the ripe Bilimbo does not look like a lot of Kamranga fruit, it is not clear which is Kamranga and which is the Bilimbo fruit.
The flowers are garo purple and the stems are green and the inside of the flower is white with a melody and the voter card shows a little light sweet color.And the leaves of the Bilombi tree are green in color with a long slender .
Bilombi are found almost everywhere in Bangladesh. India is found in more different countries including Malaysia-Philippines.
In Bangladesh it is eaten raw as a pickled fruit and is often eaten with small fish soup or cooked with pulses.Especially with dried chilli powder and salt it is much more fun to eat raw.
In some places Bilombi leaves are used as a paste for scabies and in others it is used as a juice for fever and cold cough. However, eating extra bilumbi juice can be harmful for the kidneys.
