If you found this too long to read, you can skip to 3.0 for the reason why it doesn't work.

2.0 INTRODUCTION
.
I found the concept of prayer is rather strange as there are many contradictions that are in the Bible.
Here I present about why asking God for something to happen are USELESS
===
2.1 The Bible Verses
.
===
2.1.1 GOD'S PLAN
.
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
.
Proverbs 19:21 ESV
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
.
===
2.1.2 PRAYERS
.
Mark 11:24 ESV
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
.
Philippians 4:6 ESV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
.
Luke 11:9 ESV
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
.
Matthew 21:22 ESV
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

.
The God's Plan is PERFECTED and it is PREDETERMINED for us.
We cannot argue with that as the believers believe this to be right.
God's Plan will NOT BE CHANGED for it is the MOST PERFECT PLAN.
.
Prayers on the other hand is something you can ask about God. For example, in Matt 21:22, it says whatever you ask, you will receive if you have faith. There are prayers for thanksgiving but I'll focus on one particular prayer.

4.0 THE PARADOX OF PRAYER
.
Prayers is asking God for something you want to happen. For example, you ask God to guide you in passing your exam, or you ask God to heal your sickness. It is asking God for your desired outcome.
.
Let's have a THOUGHT EXPERIMENT.
1. Assume that your mother is DYING.
2. You prayed to God for your mother to live.
.
In this experiment, we can expect ONLY TWO OUTCOMES.
This is a TRUE DICHOTOMY.
.
The two outcomes are:
1. Something you asked did happen [Your mother is ALIVE]
2. Something you asked did NOT happen [Your mother DIED]
.
Remember the God's Plan?
God's Plan should not be changed for the fact that it is the Most Perfect Plan.
.
So here's the PARADOX.
A. Suppose that God has already planned that your mother will LIVE.
B. You asked God that your mother to LIVE
C. Since God's Plan is UNCHANGEABLE, your mother will be ALIVE.
.
::Therefore, something you'd asked did happen.
.
Here's a second take on the PARADOX
A. Suppose that God has already planned that your mother will DIE.
B. You asked God that your mother to LIVE
C. Since God's Plan is UNCHANGEABLE, your mother will be DEAD.
.
::Therefore, something you'd asked didn't happened
.
As it is shown on the thought experiment, the conclusion of the experiment is DEPENDENT on Variables A and C.
The variable B, which is the PRAYER didn't have any impact on the end results.
.
THEREFORE THE ULTIMATE CONCLUSION is that PRAYERS ARE FUTILE and SERVES NO PURPOSE TO CHANGE ONE'S DESIRED OUTCOME.

5.0 GROW UP
.
Accept that some things are NOT IN OUR CONTROL. Grow up, if you want something to happen, you can make it happen. But also there are some things that are not in control, WE MUST ACCEPT IT.
I think it's a hasty generalization to say that prayers won't work. Prayers are not just for asking things.
