This post is quite controversial because it deals with the Holy Scripture. I warn you that this may cause cognitive dissonance as what I’m going to tell you that we don’t get our morality in the Bible.
.
In the next part, I’m going to present to you if you can figure it out about what’s wrong in these bible passages.
.
================
2.0 What’s wrong with these passages?
.
Kill Women Who Are Not Virgins On Their Wedding Night
But if this charge is true (that she wasn’t a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father’s house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)
.
Kill People for Working on the Sabbath
The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: ‘Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.’ (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)
.
Kill Sons of Sinners
Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)
.
More Rape and Baby Killing
Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children. (Isaiah 13:15-18 NLT)
.
Mass Murder
This is what the Lord of hosts has to say: ‘I will punish what Amalek did to Israel when he barred his way as he was coming up from Egypt. Go, now, attack Amalek, and deal with him and all that he has under the ban. Do not spare him, but kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.’ (1 Samuel 15:2-3 NAB)
[what the heck?]
.
More Murder Rape and Pillage
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you. (Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
.
Laws of Rape

If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her. (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NAB)
.
Sex Slaves
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl’s owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

Now I will ask you, is there something wrong in these Bible verses? Of course yes, there is something wrong.
.
If our MORALS came inside the BIBLE, we should believe in these passages as MORALLY RIGHT. But the problem is, we know that it is MORALLY WRONG.
.
This means we’re just CHERRY PICKING the BIBLE and you pick and choose the verses about what suits you.
When you want a verse that says God loves you, here it is.
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1 John 4:9-11 NIV)
.
But when you want a God that says it is okay to kill every man in town and get all the virgins if they disagree with you, well here it is.
(Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
.
This is why I concluded that we don’t get our morality in the Bible.
WE ONLY PICK AND CHOOSE VERSES THAT WE LIKE.
And to the fact that we pick good verses and dispose other unpleasant verses poses a greater understanding that our morals came from something else.

Let me clarify, between the article I presented these words...
"If our MORALS came inside the BIBLE, we should believe in these passages as MORALLY RIGHT. But the problem is, we know that it is MORALLY WRONG." Yes, but why do we know that the verses that I presented above is WRONG if it came and commanded from the Bible?
