Animals of Chernobyl

In 1986, a few days after a nuclear disaster struck the small city of Pripyat, residents were forced to leave their homes, and evacuate the city, leaving their pets (mostly dogs and cats) behind. Soviet troops had a mission to eliminate all animals that were left behind, but miraculously, many pets survived. Still today, it is a common thing to see German shepherds in Pripyat, but they need our help! There is an organization called "Clean Futures" that is taking care of abandoned animals in Chernobyl and Pripyat.
