Potato Cheese Roll

Potato is one of the top vegetable use to make lots and lots of special dishes. Fried, boiled or even when baked potatoes are tastier rather on it's own.

Me and my sisters love fried potatoes but we hated it when it's boiled, for it taste nothing or it's just too plain for our appetite.

So my mother think of a bright idea to upgrade the boiled potatoes to be tasty and yummy.

I'd love to share this recipe to you and I'm pretty sure that your kids will love this dish too.

You can make this at your own home or make this as a simple start of your little income.

So let's start !

( Ingredients)

  • 3 large-sized potatoes

  • Pinch of Salt

  • 1 cheddar cheese

  • 1 egg

  • Breadcrumbs

( For Dippings )

  • 1/2 cup Mayonaisse

  • 1 tbsp Banana Catsup

Note : Prepare barbecue sticks or a popsicle sticks for this recipe if you like (but hey, this thing is optional)

( Proceduce )

1) Lightly cut the skin part of the potatoes in circular portion but do not slice the potatoes.

Note : We're doing this to make the potatoes skin easily peel off after we boiled it. Later we will not be needing the knife to peel it off.

2) Boiled the potatoes until it tenders. Once it's cooked remove it from the heat and remove it from water. Peel off it's skin by using your hand. Be careful 'cause it's hot.

3) Put the peeled potatoes in a bowl and mash it throughly until it smoothens.

Note : While mashing it, remember to add a pinch of salt to make it tastier.

4) Slice or cut the cheddar cheese into strips. This will be our filling for our dish.

5) By using a barbecue stick or any stick you have in there as long as it is small, carefully pitch or skewer the middle part of the cheese as shown in the picture below.

Note: This part is optional, so it means you can do this method or just skip it.

6) Cover the cheese in the stick with mashed potatoes. Make sure to cover all the parts of the cheese, to avoid popping out the cheese filling when you cook it.

7) Beat an egg, dip in the mashed potatoes with the stick in the egg and roll it very carefully into the breadcrumbs.

8) Heat up the pan, put some oil. Put the potato roll and let it cook. Remember to put the potato roll when the oil is hot.

Note : You don't have to use too much oil. You can just turn the potato roll to make all the sides cooked. Cook the potato roll in low heat only to avoid burning or overcooking. Overcooking of your dish will make it soggy.

9) Once your potato roll is lightly golden brown remove it from the pan and put it in paper towel. This will reduce the excess oil in the potato roll. Then put it in a plate.

10) For dippings : Mix 1/2 cup of mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of banana catsup.

Serve it and enjoy !
