Cake is a type of pastry that everyone loves to eat especially when there's an occasion like birthdays and holidays.
In this recipe I will share today with you will make you think or confused you if it's a cake or not.
So let's start !
(Ingredients)
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vinegar
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
food coloring green
food coloring yellow
sugar syrup
jam
1 cup milk for froth
(Procedure)
1) In a big bowl, put the oil, condensed milk, sugar and milk then whisk it. After whisking add the vinegar and whisk it again.
2) Place a sifter on top of the bowl. This will make the next ingredient you'll add to be sifted. In the sifter put the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Then gently shake the sifter until the all the dry ingredients drop off the wet mixture below. Whisk it again until it becomes thick and soft.
3) Separate 1/2 cup batter(mixture) put it in a bowl. Put in a few drop of green food color into the 1/2 cup batter you separated then mix it. Mix it until the batter turns green then set aside.
4) As well as for the other batter put in a few drop of yellow food color and mix it until it turns yellow.
5) Pour in the yellow batter into a 6-inch greased pan(square). Remember to put baking paper on the pan. Tap it up and down to avoid bubbles.
6) In a deep pan, place a stand and cover the pan with lid. Heat up the pan for 5 minutes on medium heat. After 5 minutes place the mould inside the pan and cover it again with lid. Cook it in low flame for 30-40 minutes.
7) While waiting let's prepare the green batter. Pour in the green batter into a 6-inch greased pan. Don't forget the baking paper. Then tap it again up and down to avoid bubbles.
8) In another pan place a stand again. Cover the pan with lid and wait for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of waiting, place the mould with the green batter inside of the pan and cover it again with lid. Cook it for 15-20 minutes in medium-low heat.
9) Once the desired time elapsed, try pitching a toothpick in both batters. If nothing sticks in the toothpick well then it's cooked.
10) Take out the green cake in the pan. Let it cool first then top it with a wood board and turn it around. Lift up the mould and remove the baking paper into the cake.
11) Repeat procedure number 10 for the yellow cake.
12) Turn up the yellow cake again. Then cut the top of the cake, just a little portion only. See the picture below.
13) Brush some sugar syrup on top of the yellow cake and spread some jam. Then put the green cake over the yellow cake. Tap it gently to make the cake stick together.
14) Using the bread knife, gently scratch the top of the green cake to make it rough.
15) Cut the sides/edges of the cake to make it more presentable.
16) Then divide the cake into six parts.
17) Put the milk in the blender and blend it for few minutes to make a milk froth. This will be the illusional bubbles for your cake.
18) Using a spoon, gently put a small amount of the milk froth on top of the cake. Do not spread it all over just put it on one side to make it more illusional bubble. Serve it and enjoy !
