Narrated from Mu'adh Ibn Jabal. He said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'O Mu'adh! Do you know, what is the right of God on the servant? He said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said: The servant will worship ALLAH and will not associate anyone with Him. (He asked him again) Do you know what is the right of the servant over ALLAH? He said: ALLAH and His Messenger know best. He [the Prophet] said: That is not to punish the servants.
It is narrated from Abu Sa'eed Khudri (R) that one man heard another man reciting Surah Ikhlas repeatedly. In the morning the man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) and mentioned the matter to him; The man seemed to downplay the importance of Surah Ikhlas. In this context, the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said: I swear by the One in Whose hand is my life! This surah must be one-third of the Qur'an.
Isma'il ibn Ja'far has narrated from Qatadah ibn al-Numan (R) with (some) increase from the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him).
Narrated from ‘Aishah (R). He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) sent a Companion as the head of a mujahideen group. When he led the prayers with his companions, he would end the prayer with the Ikhlas Surah. When they returned from the expedition, they discussed the matter with the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him) said: Ask him why he did this. Then when they asked him, he replied that this Surah has the attributes of Allah. I love to read the surah for this. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, "Tell him that Allah loves him."
