As a parent, you must juggle a tightrope between buying your daughter the clothes she wants and buying her the clothes you would prefer her to wear. These days, there is a problem with many preteen girls wearing clothes that are not entirely age-appropriate and parents want to make sure their daughters dress the way they think they should.
However, there are ways you can shop for girls' outfits that are age-appropriate, without having a discussion with your daughter about what clothes to buy.
1. First, when you are shopping for clothes online, or at a retail outlet, shop with your daughter. Ask her to look at the clothes and determine which one she might be interested in, at the same time that she offers you suggestions on the clothes that she thinks she might like. Remember to always get her opinion and turn it into a dual shopping experience. This will save you from having to return clothes that you have bought that your daughter cannot wear.
2. Your daughter may want low-waisted jeans, but if this is a problem for you, look for jeans that don't fit too close to her hipbones and won't be too tight on your daughter.
3. Don't buy your daughter t-shirts that are too small or that contain expressions that may be considered offensive or perpetuate negative stereotypes. There is plenty of clothes shop by outfit online, you can find online that fit well and you don't feel the need to delve into bad taste. If your daughter wants something fun in her shirt, she can easily find what she is looking for or make something.
4. When looking for outfits online and in the retail world, choose shorts and skirts that can be paired with blouses. If your daughter wears jeans or long pants, then ask her to wear tank tops.
5. Most parents will have a problem with sweatpants or shorts that have something printed on the back. There should be no reason for your daughter to advertise anything there for people to watch, so refrain from that.
You can find many nice outfits on websites that offer stylish yet attractive outfits that are not trying to look edgy or 'trendy'. You don't have to sacrifice modesty for good clothes, so don't feel that way. Just explain to your daughter what she would prefer her to wear and why and she will be amazed at how they respond to her agreement.
