An aesthetic novel...
There are many novels that need to be read again and again. The reason for reading again and again is not only because the novels are very good but also because their style and technique is like this. That once read, the novelist's thoughts and his art do not open to me to such readers and there are some novels which fall into the mind and heart only after reading once. The reason I read such novels once is not that they are not interesting but the reason is that once I read them, such readers are memorized by me because of their charming style and best technique.
Whenever I read Krishna Chandra, I read him as a novelist. Peshawar Express, Kalu Bhangi, Jaman Ka Peer and many other such myths strengthened his status. I must have known about Krishna Chandra's novels but I did. Deliberately did not get access to any novel, the reason was the first impression but the effect of that first impression lasted until I read the novel "The valleys of the heart fell asleep" and then "The road goes back".
I had read during MA Urdu that Krishna Chandra belonged to the progressive movement. Reading his fiction, it was confirmed. He was practically progressive. Fancy reflects the thinking. The biggest and most amazing feature of this novel is that the plot of this novel is very limited or so to say small but still the story and the characters associated with the story are filled in such a way that the man has a finger. Narendra is arrested by train for stealing bread and breaking the two teeth of a rich Seth who was sitting as a snake on wealth while resisting this theft. The train crashes and then in the absence of relief for several days the place where the train crashed, becomes a whole society where the rich get richer day by day and the poor get poorer. Day by day he sinks into the mire of poverty. The story of the whole novel revolves around the same train and the passengers who became homeless as a result of the train accident. Narendra is guilty but the misery of the poor. He knows what he can do for his peers in the desert. Raj Kumari who is the victim of the same accident who first despises Narendra, then his sympathy and philanthropy. Inspired by, his love begins to breathe. There are many twists and turns in this seemingly simple but profound story, when the eyes are filled with tears, especially when the Brahmin is with his wife despite the pain of the poor. He forbids the innocent child of a dead beggar to breastfeed so that his Dharma is not spoiled and in the darkness of the night the love of the wife of the same Brahmin wakes up and she comes secretly to breastfeed the innocent child. The biggest message of this novel is humanity which seems to play many important and insignificant roles with Narendra through his actions. Separation from Narendra Modi just because he is poor and Raj Kumari is the daughter of a rich king, points to the social and emotional exploitation of the people who are crushed in the mill of poverty. This novel is such that the reader cannot escape from its spell and this is the success of Krishna Chandra's style and thought.
The story of those who spend their days dreaming of good days with their eyes awake in the night full of stars on the sidewalk can be read in Krishna Chandra's novel "The Road Goes Back". Jangli / Raju and Tarna In this novel also Krishna Chandra has propagated his progressive ideology and Tarna's character is the bearer of knowledge of this ideology. Rebelling against one's parents against the tyranny of one's favorite marriage and running away from home and then escaping from the clutches of the beauty market and beauty buyers on one's own strength is a mirror of the progressive trend. When the same Tarna reaches the sidewalk, those who live below the poverty line are not seen by her day and night. She also lights a lamp of hope there. Sowing consciousness in the mind becomes her dream. To fulfill this dream she tramples on her dream. The dream she had for Jangli / Raju with two oxen and a small house. As a leader's character. A character who fights against the evil forces as well as the temporal conditions and ultimately the victory belongs to him. This novel by Krishna Chandra is the interpreter of the readers who dream and give their all for the interpretation of these dreams and finally the smile becomes successful and starts dancing on their lips.
The fruits of the efforts of Gagan Shahid and Amar Shahid Book Corner Jhelum We are no less than a blessing for those who love such knowledge and literature. Krishna Chandra's novels which are not available anywhere in Pakistan We pray that these two brothers who publish literature get the best reward for their hard work and we get to read the best literature through them.
