One of the most recent examples in relation to the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies comes from Switzerland and is something very positive for the country's financial market, because it presents a very strong potential for unity and that certainly can influence many other countries to follow the same path. I am referring to the recent partnership between the bank Bordier & Cie SCmA with Sygnum Bank, which will offer customers the option of trading cryptocurrencies.
Money Times
Among the litas of Swiss private banks, Bordier is one of the oldest financial institutions. Founded in 1844, this bank is a great example of traditionalism and capitalist strength within the country, but it still had a relatively "limited" view of the prospect of renewing the future of money. However, things are changing, and with this joint effort, a new chapter is being written in the bank's history.
By joining Sygnum's B2B Banking, Bordier's internal infrastructure will be based on a significant change in its internal structure to offer the new path for customers who wish to transact with a different set of cryptocurrencies. This initiative (known as execution services), will allow Bordier customers to have an exclusive platform to move their cryptocurrencies.
Fox News
According to Evrard Bordier (who is a managing partner of Boldier), the bank can no longer "turn a blind eye" to the ever increasing demands of customers in relation to this innovation because investment in cryptocurrencies is growing in the country, and is diversifying within an increasingly broader scenario (users with multiple cryptocurrency portfolios). This type of move is also already being made by other private and government banks (such as Basler Kantonalbank, Julius Baer, InCore Bank and Maerki Baumann & Co.).
In my view, the weight of this adhesion on the part of Bordier has a very symbolic meaning because it is a bank with a very old view on the market and those innovations that are now part of its activities show that the past has given the hands to the future and that together, they can put on a new outfit and continue to be relevant in their fields of activity (now, much broader) in the eyes of their customers.
