In Russia, there is a tradition to bring home a Christmas tree before the New Year and decorate it. Initially, this tradition concerned the Nativity of Christ, but after the revolution of 1917, all the traditions were turned upside down. In the midst of the Christmas fast in Russia, the New Year is celebrated, and a week later (January 7) Christmas. And a week more later (January 14), the old New Year, i.e. the "correct" New Year, which was previously celebrated after Christmas (lol, are you not confused yet?) Yes, we love holidays very much😄 There are many jokes about the long New Year holidays in Russia. But I digress. In most houses, the Christmas tree is taken out into the street after the old New Year, but my husband and I are always sorry to throw it away and it stands at our house until the beginning of spring. And on the night of February 28 (29) to March 1, we went to the yard and burned it. Thus we celebrated the coming of spring😊☀️ But since we have been celebrating New Year and Christmas in India in recent years, this tradition has ended. For us, the malls started to decorate earlier and earlier over the years except in last two. Chinese New Year is somewhere between January and February. Depending on how early it is, stores and malls can quickly change over their Christmas decorations.
Yes, our malls and shops are also decorated in advance, sometimes already in November. For our company, this is a sign that it's time to release New Year calendars😊
Not all have christmas trees to decorate.. i for one dont that any more.. we have a long celebration of christmas amd it starts when ber months begin till the celebration of three kings the following year.. On new year we normally have fireworks at the eve of jan 1 Christmas day here is very festive...😁
How great it is when Christmas is more important in the country than the New Year🙏👍 But since I was born in the Soviet Union and atheism prevailed for 70 years, our main holiday was the New Year, and it was the most favorite holiday for children. Now, of course, everything is different...🙏😊 And what is the celebration of the three kings?
Nothing special.. but we celebrate it as giving honors to the three wise men when they found baby Jesus and when they did not tell Herod about finding the child..😊
