The UEFA governing body as introduced another continental competition which has being in plan since 2015 named The UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) and also called EUROPA League 2 which is planned to start next year (2021) and it will be the third tier of European club football after the Champions League and the Europa League. It will be an annual football club competition for eligible European football clubs. Football Clubs will qualify for the competition based on their performance in their national leagues and cup competitions.

Total clubs of 32 will be participating in the competition for the group stage and another clubs from Europa league 1 will join the league after their own group stage. The new competition will feature 141 matches over 15 match weeks. The winner of the new competition will be entitled to participate in the Europa League in the following season automatically and this competition matches will be played on Thursdays.

The competition is planned to run from the 2021–22 season and will serve as the bottom level of the existing UEFA Europa League competition. The competition will primarily be contested by football clubs from lower-ranked UEFA member associations. This is different from champions league or Europa league because no teams will qualify directly, with 10 teams eliminated in the Europa League play-offs and the rest coming from the Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Based on this reorganisation, no association will benefit from more berths to continental football than they had before the 2021–24 competition cycle, with the tournament essentially being the lower orders of the existing Europa League tournament but split off into a secondary tournament.
